Venom Separation Anxiety Comic Set 1.1

Venom Separation Anxiety Comic Set Front Covers

Venom: Separation Anxiety is an excellent story that does an expert job of bringing back the five spawn symbiotes from Venom: Lethal Protector #5. It is interesting watching Eddie Brock’s belligerent interactions with the five spawn, in comparison to the violent rampage of the loose symbiote. Even without the symbiote, Eddie Brock is a force to be reckoned with who can easily hold his own against most of the opponents he encounters. This makes the buildup to the reunion entertaining and even more rewarding when Venom is finally back in action.

The artwork is what can be expected from the mid-90s Marvel Era. Detailed panels, excellent depictions of movement and attacks, and very muscular depictions of the male body. The 90s was truly the peak for ultra-muscular characters, with Venom himself being especially immense. Our favorite panel is also the panel we included above in the “Notable Panels” section, featuring the reunion between Eddie Brock and the symbiote.

Overall, a very good read! Perfect for any Venom fan who wants to just jump into a quick, four-issue storyline and enjoy some symbiote chaos.

Best of Wolverine Volume 1 Hardcover 1.1

Best of Wolverine Volume 1 Front Cover

The Best of Wolverine: Volume 1 is a collection of some of the most renown Wolverine stories. From Wolverine’s famous fights with Captain America and the Hulk, to a bitter confrontation in the snow with the ultimate Woman of War, this hardcover does not fail to provide Wolverine action. The highlight for us was the ending, which featured a four-issue story highlighting Wolverine’s time in Japan. The stories collected are incredible reads, a perfect hardcover for the Wolverine fan.

The artwork is a high point, with the various entries being drawn by titans in the industry like Barry Windsor-Smith, Herb Trimpe, and one of our favorites, Frank Miller. There is a wide range of time periods covered in this hardcover, with artwork going all the way back to 1974 with Hulk vs. Wolverine, up to the dark and brooding depictions of Wolverine in the 80s.

Overall, a perfect purchase for the Wolverine fan who wants to revisit Logan’s greatest moments.

Iron Man Deadly Solutions Hardcover 1.1

Iron Man Deadly Solutions Front Cover

Iron Man: Deadly Solutions is a hardcover that collects issues #1-7 of the 1998 series. This hardcover has great story arcs that features battles between Iron Man and the Dreadnoughts and Iron Man and Firebrand, as well as appearances by Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow and the Kree. In Marvel Premiere Classic fashion, the hardcover is slick and beautiful.

In typical 90s fashion, we have hulking, muscular characters, detailed panels, and incredible action sequences. The artwork does not disappoint, especially in the first story arc with the Deathsquad. One aspect we especially enjoyed was how, when appropriate, Iron Man’s armor glints and properly reflects light. Details like this are what made Marvel Comics so enjoyable in the 90s!

Overall, a great starting place for new Iron Man fans and a wonderful nostalgia trip for old ones. This hardcover contains enough information to get even a new fan up-to-date on Iron Man’s origins, but can also serve as a reminder/refresher for older fans of the series. If anything, the slick hardcover with Iron Man and Black Widow on the front is worth your time.
