Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters Comics Lot

Artists: Christopher Parsonavich, Herb Wood & Mike Dringenberg
Inker: John Nyberg
Letterer: Sam Wray
Editors: Don Chin & Cat Yronwode
Covers #1,2,3,4,5 by: Christopher Parsonavich

Bruce, Chuck, Jackie, and Clint are just four normal young rodents, selected to serve as guinea pigs (how humiliating for hamsters!) on the test launch of a new NASA rocket. Cosmic rays transform them into the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters, who, after years of martial arts schooling, turn their powers to the benefit of all mankind.
They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, and if that’s true, then who could doubt the sincerity of writer Don Chin, artist Parsonavich, and editor Cat Yronwode in their efforts to flatter (and capitalize on) the most surprising comics success story of the mid-1980s, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Four hamsters become astronauts to save the planet from cosmic jello. After crash landing in Tibet, they train in a monastery for several years. Flying to San Francisco in first class, they confront hijackers.
Next in issue #2, The hamsters try to figure out what they want to be. Later, the young hamsters are sent by their master to find the Legendary Man of the Mountains.
Next in issue #3, Myron and Chuck try to break Jackie, Clint and Bruce out of prison; the boys encounter a Yeti couple while on a Himalayan excursion.
Next in issue #4, The ARBBH run afoul of a cult that worships Colonel Sanders but escape with help from The Heap.
Next in issue #5, While on the lam for destroying the Statue of Liberty, Clint finds Randi, a woman he had met at a concert. She convinces the boys to evade capture by removing their clothes and putting socks on their ears. The police then believe they are her dogs. The Pot-Luck Organization catches up to them at a Disney-style theme park.
Next in issue #6, The ARBBH fend off an attack by the Pot-Luck Organization at a Disney-style theme park. Captain Tree and Bush Boy appear to die in an explosion with the Pot-Luck Organization.
Next in issue #7, The ARBBH are attacked on a beach in Miami by a toe-sucking monster who takes them to his creator’s underwater base. They awake in death traps; all escape except Bruce.
Next in issue #8, Bruce’s body is found by his brothers, who fail to revive him. When they leave to mourn, the medical lab is cut off and a hulking figure works feverishly over Bruce’s body. Castro leaves and an alarm sounds, forcing Chuck, Clint and Jackie to evacuate without their brother’s body. The undersea complex explodes and the brothers are separated. Jackie is marooned on an island. Chuck is picked up by a Russian ship. Clint is picked up by a mafia crime lord.
Finally in issue #9, The ARBBH reminisce on their adventures and ponder where it has taken them… and what it has cost…
