Belit is a character appearing in the fictional universe of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian. She is a pirate queen who has a romantic relationship with Conan. She appears in Howard’s Conan novelette Queen of the Black Coast, first published in Weird Tales #23 (5 May 1934). She is the first substantial female character to appear in Howard’s Conan stories. Partly thanks to her substantial appearance in the Marvel Comics’ Conan series, the character is recognized as being Conan’s “true love”.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1A, “The Lost Verses”, The teenage Bêlit, obsessed with the sea – as well as the monsters and treasures she thinks are summoning her there – stows away on the ship of the dread Admiral Atrahasis into a deadly adventure even she could not predict!

Next in issue #2A, “The Mad Quest”, Bêlit finds her first battle at sea! But will her impetuous nature lead the crew to victory, or sink her ambitions before they’ve begun? Either way, Captain Saturninus will need a new ship!

Next in issue #3A, “The Lesson”, Bêlit has a plan to extort the rich cities along the coast… but as she makes her name in the Hyborian Age, is she leading herself to a watery grave? And who is the mysterious observer who is tracking her?

Next in issue #4A, “The Oath”, Bêlit’s mad quest takes her on a new course… But will the sea monsters she’s been hunting prove to have a deeper connection to her future? N’yaga returns! But what has he been up to since Bêlit last encountered him?

Finally in issue #5A, “All Hail the Queen”, Bêlit undergoes a harrowing experience… but will she emerge stronger or forever broken by the ordeal? And: N’Yaga’s greatest challenge!
