In 2122, The multinational corporation Weyland-Yutani diverted their commercial towing vehicle, The Nostromo, to the moon LV-426 to investigate a potential distress call. The mission was a ruse, intended to secure specimens of a dangerous alien species known as the XX121 Xenomorph for research and profit. The crew of the Nostromo made contact with XX121, with tragic results.

In 2179, the Weyland-Yutani terraforming colony known as Hadley’s Hope was overrun by Xenomorphs.

An attempt by Colonial Marines to rescue the colony was also met with tragedy.

Because “Steel Team” – the legendary, unkillable Synthetic Special Operations team – is the United Systems’ only hope as they navigate the hellscape that the once-idyllic Tobler-9 has become. Since its mysterious downfall years earlier, Tobler-9 is considered one of the most hostile environments in the known universe – a place where nothing organic could possibly have survived…or could it?

Story/Spoilers:
In issue #1A, “Icarus – Part 1”, A small colony of synths have settled in secret on a backwater moon. When a company of United System soldiers come to them for help retrieving biotechnology on a hostile planet that could be the key to saving humanity, the synths must decide whether the prospect of peace between man and machine is worth the risk of betrayal.

In 2200, an anti-corporate terrorist organization attacked Weyland-Yutani research station Epsilon, inadvertently freeing several ovomorphs and an incubating Xenomorph known as Alpha. The company initiated the station’s self-destruct protocols to hide the evidence. There were two survivors.

In 2200, Weyland-Yutani used Xenomorphs to sabotage a United Americas terraforming colony, operated by members of the anti-tech church called the Spinners. Nearly every colonist, as well as a full battery of Weyland-Yutani defense agents, was slaughtered.

Now the year is 2217. Following rumors that Weyland-Yutani’s ambitions for the XX121 had grown well beyond bioweapons, the planetoid Tobler-9 — Weyland-Yutani’s Research and Development hub — has become a world of irradiated, overgrown ruins… another world burned on the altar of the alien organism.

Next in issue #2A, “Icarus – Part 2”, Nothing organic ever tangled with us and walked away. “Steel Team,” the legendary, unkillable Synthetic Special Operations team, has been reactivated. Sent to an abandoned Weyland-Yutani outpost to recover a project that now could save millions, Steel Team is the United Systems’ only hope as they navigate the hellscape that the once-idyllic Tobler-9 has become. Since its mysterious downfall years earlier, Tobler-9 is considered one of the most hostile environments in the known universe, a place where nothing organic could possibly have survived… could it?

In 2200, the research station Epsilon was overrun by an anti-WY group who inadvertently set free an incubating Xenomorph known as Alpha. There were two survivors.

In 2200, Xenomorphs were released on United Americas Spinners settlement and massacred most of the population. Against all odds, a handful escaped.

Now the year is 2217. Tobler-9 is dead — another Weyland-Yutan world overrun by the organism. Due to an ongoing war between Weyland-Yutani and the United Systems, the planet Perseus-9 — a farming colony crucial to the survival of human life — has just experienced an extinction-level disaster. The United Systems has commissioned the Steel Team — the legendary, unkillable Synthetic Special Operations team — to procure a modified ovomorph egg on the radioactive Tobler-9 that has the genetic material with the potential to save humanity.

Next in issue #3A, “Icarus – Part 3”, The devil you know…While searching the Xenomorph-infested Tobler-9 for an alien sample that can save humanity, “Steel Team,” the mythical Synthetic Special Operations team, has made a shocking discovery: a colony of humans who have managed to survive there for decades. With only their mutual mistrust in common, the humans and synths strike an uneasy bargain: the alien sample in exchange for Steel Team’s help in clearing a subterranean Xenomorph nest. But while the humans have had to sacrifice some of their humanity to survive, Steel Team learns that the ICARUS alien strain has taken on some disturbingly Human tendencies…

They found the lab ransacked, the egg gone. Xenomorphs attacked and had backed the synths into a killing corner when the impossible appeared: a band of living humans, armed to the teeth.

Next in issue #4A, “Icarus – Part 4”, Steel Team’s human allies have led them into an ambush, leaving them for dead in the nest of a vicious Xenomorph Queen. As Steel Team suffers their first casualties, Eli’s trust in Freyja is tested like never before. Meanwhile, the humans suffer the consequences of their betrayal as a new kind of monster awakens inside one of their own.

Now the year is 2217. Tobler-9 is dead — another Weyland-Yutan world overrun by the organism and then nuked until the radiation made organic life impossible. When a disaster decimated the planet Perseus-9, a crucial farming colony, the United Systems sent the Steel Team — the legendary band of synthetics — to Tobler-9 to procure a modified ovomorph egg that has the genetic material to save humanity.

The synths were shocked to find a band of human survivors amidst the ruin. The humans agreed to lead Steel Team to the egg, but when they found the Alien Queen, the humans betrayed the synths, swearing not to let any of WY’s research further corrupt the human race. As it already seems to be doing to one of their own, a young woman named Lee…

Next in issue #5A, “Icarus – Part 5”, The ship the humans stole from the Steel Team has crashed, and from the fiery wreckage emerged a swarm of Xenos led by the monstrous Hybrid! The few remaining humans fled back to their base in a futile attempt to escape slaughter. Meanwhile, with their numbers quickly dwindling, the Steel Team must make difficult decisions that could result in the possible success, or utter failure, of this disaster mission.

The synths were shocked to find a band of human survivors amidst the ruin. After leading Steel Team to the egg, the humans betrayed the synths, but not before Lee, a human, was infected by research left behind by WY scientist. Morphing into an xenomorph-like creature, Lee killed her friends and led a group of Xenomorphs to a bunker containing the remaining survivors – and Steel Team’s distress beacon to escape Perseus-9…

Finally in issue #6A, “Icarus – Part 6”, Steel Team is in fragments. Scores of innocent humans are dead after surviving years on an irradiated rock. A new kind of xenomorph is emerging… hunting… killing. It’s all built to this. Is this the end – or the beginning – of a new horror?

A band of human survivors betrayed the synths, but one of their own was infected by research left behind by WY scientist. Morphing into an xenomorph-like creature, Lee led a group of Xenomorphs to a bunker containing the remaining survivors. Synths Eli and Freyja escaped with a child who carries the genetic code they came to find – but Eli went mad over the loss of Steel Team, and sent “the kid” plummeting into a nest of Xenomorphs…
