Following a one-year hiatus after his best-selling run on The Uncanny X-Men, Chris Claremont made his triumphant return to comics in this 320-page epic of Aliens and Predators. If you’re a fan of Claremont’s writing, or if you’re one of the legion of Aliens and Predator aficionados, you won’t want to be without this deluxe, limited-edition hardcover of Aliens/Predator: Deadliest of the Species. Jackson Guice and John Beatty (The Terminator: Endgame) delivered some of their finest art in the first three chapters, and Eduardo Barreto deftly carried the mantle from chapter four through the end.

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, An alien captures Caryn Delacroix, a genetically engineered woman who was already dealing with nightmares and her husband’s inappropriately amorous son.

Next in part #2, A surprisingly formidable Caryn Delacroix, caught in a virtual reality game, battles with and against a Predator.

Next in part #3, Caryn Delacroix doesn’t know if she is going insane, having nightmares, or stuck in virtual reality.

Next in part #4, Caryn Delacroix escapes her dreamlike state and then escapes with the captured Predator.

Next in part #5, Caryn Delacroix and the Predator escape Earth and the Liberte, only to arrive at Space Station Samara, which was built from the starship Ellen Ripley.

Next in part #6, Rogues capture Caryn Delacroix in hopes of selling her to the highest bidder. Adding to the intrigue is a healed, reawakened Predator.

Next in part #7, Caryn Delacroix is once again in a dreamlike state in which she is unsure of what is going on. A variety of questions remain unanswered, such as how did Caryn get into her present state and what happened to the Alien Queen and the Predator?

Next in part #8, Caryn Delacroix finds her Predator pal and sacrifices her life for the creature by agreeing to be impregnated by a facehugger.

Next in part #9, Caryn must deal with the alien impregnation and with saving the Predator. Meanwhile, Alien hunter-killer robots attack the mercenary team, and the space station loses gravity.

Next in part #10, Caryn Delacroix pieces together (via memories and flashbacks) what his been happening. The mercenary team trains with a Predator and the Alien Queen.

Next in part #11, Alien/Predator hybrids, under orders from a crazed computer called the Toy, take over the Liberte. Caryn Delacroix and her pumped up pals (women in Predator masks) step in.

Finally in part #12, Caryn Delacroix’s spirit lives on in the creature that burst from her chest, and her body is resurrected as Ash Parnell.
