Back to Brooklyn Comics Lot
Story by: Garth Ennis & Jimmy Palmiotti
Writer: Garth Ennis
Artist: Mihailo Vukelic
Colorist: Bryan Free
Letterer: Simon Bowland
All Covers by: Mihailo Vukelic
Bob Saetta made the biggest mistake of his life by pissing off his brother, one of the biggest and most brutal crime bosses in New York City. This is the story of two brothers at war, wrapped in a special package of extreme language and hardcore violence. A five-issue adrenaline ride that rips the roof off Brooklyn’s criminal underworld!
Back to Brooklyn is a crime-based action drama about Bob Saetta, the number-two-man and chief hitter for Brooklyn’s Saetta crime family. Unfortunately for Bob, he knows too much. “Having discovered a horrific secret about his boss and older brother, Paul, Bob is trying to save his wife and son from his family’s wrath while avoiding the violent attentions of Paul’s soldiers,” Garth Ennis told CBR News. “All Brooklyn is out to get our hero, believing that he has turned rat – the result of a deal he’s supposed to have cut with the NYPD. Bob is gambling that he’s resourceful enough to survive on his home turf, but the ghastly truth about his brother is only the tip of the iceberg. The streets Bob knows so well have become a killing ground, and the horrors and depravity lurking there will stagger even a hardened killer like himself.”
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Friday”, Bob Saetta walks into a police plaza in hopes of telling them everything he knows. And that’s where everything goes downhill. When the police first attempt at taking down their targets fails, Bob decides to go in alone back to Brooklyn to get his wife and son. After making his proposal very clear an the police contemplate letting Bob go they decide to allow him back to Brooklyn to find his wife an son. He takes care of a few thugs with a shotgun and a bucket…yes a bucket. After finishing his “job” at the poker table he is told by one of the slowly dying goons “Don’t kill the girl.” an as soon as he is told he turns to find himself face to face with someone from his past Maggie. The inevitable blood bath is walking straight into Bob.
Next in issue #2, ”Friday Night”, Let’s face it; Brooklyn is a tough place to live. Add to that a pissed off marked man with a sawed off shotgun trying to save his family and you got some bloody fun as only Garth Ennis can deliver. Bob Saetta and his old flame Maggie Mahoney travel back to the old neighborhood in Bensonhurst to shake up the unshakeable, and realize that home sweet home has now become a blood-spattered hostile environment.
Next in issue #3, ”Saturday”, Let’s face it; Brooklyn is a tough place to live.

This issue guarantees more blood and guts and Brooklyn bravado then you can fill a body bag with.
Finally in issue #5, “Sunday”, Bob Saetta and his scumbag brother Paul can avoid it no longer, the FBI and the police department are running low on body bags as the sh*t hits the fan.
