Batman fights to save an innocent young girl from terrorist kidnappers even while he himself slowly succumbs to a deadly virus. The unknown infection has left the Dark Knight with only hours to live, and as it makes it’s lethal way through his system, the hero suffers from blackouts and maddening hallucinations, as well as physical ailments that would hospitalize a normal man. With every ounce of will focused on the girl’s safety, Batman leaves it up to his friends to discover the mysterious killer responsible for the virus, and if possible, find a cure. Robin, Oracle, and Commissioner Gordon race against the clock, but the only clues lead to the unholy trio of the Penguin, the Joker, and Two-Face. Unfortunately, they seem to have the perfect alibi…they’re all locked away in Arkham Asylum.
Story/Spoilers
Infected with a lethal virus created by a scientist hired by the Joker, Penguin and Two-Face, the rapidly deteriorating Batman has only 24 hours left to live… precious little time to find a cure and rescue a kidnapped little girl whose life is on the same timetable. As the terrorist group that has taken the girl hides from the Dark Knight’s search, Batman finds that the virus is taking its toll on his mind as well as his body. Fighting his way through pain and delirium, Batman turns all his personal resources to saving the kidnap victim and finding a cure before time runs out for them both. But even with the help of Robin, Oracle, and the Gotham City Police Department, one truth remains: 24 hours is not enough time…and it’s all Batman has left.
