Battlestar Galactica is an American science fiction franchise created by Glen A. Larson. The franchise began with the original television series in 1978. Battlestar Galactica was produced in the wake of the success of the 1977 film Star Wars. It was later followed by a short-run sequel series (Galactica 1980), a line of book adaptations, original novels, comic books, a board game, video games, and other re-imagined versions of Battlestar Galactica television series from 2003 even to recently.
In a distant part of the universe, a human civilization has extended to a group of planets known as the Twelve Colonies, to which they have migrated from their ancestral homeworld of Kobol. The Twelve Colonies have been engaged in a lengthy war with a cybernetic race known as the Cylons, whose goal is the extermination of the human race. The Cylons offer peace to the humans, which proves to be a ruse. With the aid of a human named Baltar, the Cylons carry out a massive attack on the Twelve Colonies and on the Colonial Fleet of starships that protect them. These attacks devastate the Colonial Fleet, lay waste to the Colonies, and virtually destroy their populations. Scattered survivors flee into outer space aboard a ragtag array of available spaceships. Of the entire Colonial battle fleet, only the Battlestar Galactica, a gigantic battleship and spacecraft carrier, appears to have survived the Cylon attack. Under the leadership of Commander Adama, the Galactica and the pilots of “Viper fighters” lead a fugitive fleet of survivors in search of the fabled thirteenth colony known as Earth.
Now, following the events from Realm Press’s 1997 – 1998 Battlestar Galactica series… ending with the, “Prison of Souls”… Realm Press is now proud to present the next chapter in the Battlestar Galactica saga, “The Search for Sanctuary“. After the Extra-Dimensional race, known as the Somnians had possessed the Galactica crew in a desperate bid to escape their homeworld prison. Only a heroic effort by Apollo prevented their entry into our world. However, in risking his life to avert disaster, Apollo was transported into the inter-Dimensional void. Mysterious clues indicated that Apollo may have been transported to a unknown planet. Driven by their love for Apollo, Starbuck, Athena, and Sheba lead an expedition in search of Apollo. After many centons of waiting, a weak distress signal from their apparently damaged shuttle was the last we heard from the warriors…
“Search for Sanctuary – Part 1”
Yahren 7356. Starbuck, Athena, and Sheba approach to the planet surface and meet with an unexpected disaster. Starbuck awakens from the shuttle crash to find Athena, and Sheba gone and himself surrounded by aliens. The alien natives try to enlist Starbuck to help them obtain, the Riah stone, something they believe they need to survive. Meanwhile, back on Galactica, the council believes they have perfected a way to genetically enhance humans. And elsewhere, Sardakk begins his takeover of the Cylons and Imperious Leader.
“Dark Genesis”
Writer: James Kuhoric
Artist: Robert Scott.
In the early days, the Cylons were reptilian creatures. Sobekkta was the first Cylon to create and use the mechanical Centurian. These mechanicals soon overthrew and destroyed the original reptilian race.
