Jesus, the Son of God, was born to earthly parents; Mary and Joseph a carpenter in Nazareth. He spent 33 years on earth during which time he prepared his 12 disciples for his eventual death and resurrection so they could continue his work. Jesus performed many signs and miracles, and many people accepted him as the Son of God and the Messiah. However, the Jewish people were looking for a Messiah who was a strong military leader who would help them overthrow the Romans. The people eventually turned against Jesus and had Him crucified. He died and was buried in a tomb, where He later arose and ascended into heaven where he now resides with God his spiritual Father. He will come again to take all His believers back to heaven.
