Rob Liefeld presents… Bloodstrike Assassin. Hunted by the evil Lucas Solomon and his “purifiers,” Cabbot Stone (Bloodstrike) allies himself with Mars Gunther, a man with many connections and unlimited financial and technical support. There exists an old saying, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Never has this been so true as in Bloodstrike Assassin, as Mars and Cabbot acquire two more allies after saving Lily Nalin (Athena) and Debbie Hatcher (Bailout), after Solomon makes an attempt at murdering his former employees. Both women possess unique talents useful to the war against Solomon. Bloodstrike Assassin is packed with many action scenes complete with big guns and body armor. It tells a story of two people’s hateful obsession with each other and the lengths they are willing to go in order to hurt the other.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #0, A mercenary named Yuki finds Cabbot hiding out in Kansas City after his departure from the Bloodstrike team. Though he does not remember her, she knows him and kisses him just as a squad of armored assassins teleport into the room. Cabbot and Yuki fight their way out and flee on his motorcycle. They go for coffee, and Yuki explains that they were members of Operation: Knightstrike together and had been lovers. She then reveals that the Russian government has hired her to kill an old enemy of Knightstrike’s, rogue ex-general Nicholi Gregoriev. The armored assassins were members of his terrorist group, the Neo-Soviet Forces. Cabbot and Yuki rent a hotel room and rekindle their romance, jarring Cabbot’s memory. He recalls a Knightstrike mission to Afghanistan in which the team blew up a Soviet train in an attempt to kill Gregoriev, but he was not on board. Cabbot and Yuki infiltrate Gregoriev’s hideout in New York and discover a lab stocked with clones of Gregoriev in stasis. Cabbot sets some explosive charges, but the Neo-Soviet Forces soon catch him and Yuki. They escape the building on Cabbot’s air sled just as the charges detonate, destroying the clones. Satisfied with the job done, Cabbot decides to stay with Yuki.
Next in issue #1 & 1B, Mars Gunther receives a taunting phone call from Lucas Solomon just as Purifier attack aircraft open fire on him, blowing up his Hong Kong penthouse. An armored Purifier squad deploys to ensure he is dead, but Gunther kills them and escapes. Cabbot is in Atlantic City working as a pool shark with his girlfriend Yuki. Two Purifiers attack him in an alley, but he swiftly defeats them. Gunther appears, applauding his victory. Cabbot tells him to start talking. In Santa Monica, Athena and Bailout are having coffee at a café when Vox, a Purifier whose armament Athena designed, attacks them. They flee in Bailout’s car, but Vox pursues them. Cabbot appears ahead of them standing in the rear cargo bay of an aircraft and has them drive inside it while he shoots Vox with a massive energy blaster. As the aircraft flies away, Bailout sees that Gunther is aboard as well.

Next in issue #2, Cabbot storms the Darkness, Solomon’s airborne headquarters, and slaughters the Purifiers he encounters. Outside, Athena and Bailout have hidden their aircraft in the Darkness’s exhaust stream. Both women reflect on being forced out of retirement by the Purifiers’ attempt on their lives. Solomon flees through the ship’s corridors with Cabbot in pursuit. He seals himself in a communications suite, contacts the mercenary trio M.D.K., and hires them to come kill Cabbot. Outside the suite, Cabbot tries to cut his way inside until more Purifiers attack. He fends them off, but M.D.K. arrive and announce themselves. Monitoring Cabbot’s vital signs, Athena and Bailout detect shots to his chest and abdomen. Athena notifies Gunther, but he tells her to stay in position. Determined to save Cabbot, she and Bailout instead crash their aircraft into the Darkness’s engine room. Unfortunately, Athena sees that Cabbot’s vitals have flatlined.
Finally in issue #3, Aboard the Darkness, Athena and Bailout emerge from the wreckage of their aircraft on an armed air sled and fight their way through the Purifiers in search of Cabbot. He is still alive several decks above fighting Murder, Death, and Kill a.k.a. M.D.K. He kills Death, subdues Murder, and flees from Kill as she throws knives into his back. After he gets away, Murder demands that Solomon double his and Kill’s pay to eliminate Cabbot, and Solomon reluctantly agrees. They track Cabbot through the ship and locate him behind a door. When it opens, Athena, Bailout, and Cabbot are armed and waiting for them. Outside, Gunther approaches the Darkness wearing a jetpack and lands on its hull, ready to reclaim it for himself.
