Bruce Lee was an American-born Chinese martial artist, instructor, actor, filmmaker and founder of the Jeet Kune Do martial arts system. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and famous martial artists of all time. He is considered by many to be the greatest martial artist of all time. Bruce Lee is also widely considered as the father of mixed martial arts.
Now released as a collaboration between Darby Pop and Bruce Lee Enterprises, Darby Pop Publishing presents a Bruce Lee mini-series where the martial arts legend had never died but was secretly kept in suspended animation…until now! The Dragon has awakened… and he walks the earth once more in the modern-day present!
Story/Spoilers
In issue #0, Preview of issue #1… Bruce Lee finds himself alive and well, awakening in the modern day with his memory gone and with absolutely no idea of what has happened for the previous forty years, but remembers his fighting skills… that he didn’t even know he had. He soon runs into an old friend, Joe Toomey, a private investigator who helps him discover the circumstances surrounding his mysterious disappearance and helps him navigate the new world and fight against those who are trying to recapture him. A couple of teenage neighborhood kids get involved when Bruce Lee comes to their aid when they are being berated by an abusive sensei as they try to learn martial arts. And who is the mysterious villain Nakamura? Features Bruce Lee photo image on front cover.

Next in issue #2A,2B, Bruce Lee never died. And he hasn’t aged. But he has no idea who he is, what’s happened in the world in the past 40+ years, or why so many “thugs” want a piece of him. With the help of a fly BFF from the 70’s – Joe Toomey, P.I. and a pair of precocious teens, Bruce begins to piece together a mystery more insidious than ever imagined and finds himself forced to do battle with both an enigmatic villain and his very own conscience.
Includes variant cover “Bruce Lee” art of issue # 2. Awesome!!
Next in issue #3, Bruce Lee never died; he’s been held captive for 40+ years in a state of suspended animation. But by whom? And why? Bruce’s old pal Joe Toomey helps investigate, but the bad guys remain elusive. And the warehouse-cum-prison Bruce and Joe leveled has been “magically” restored. Meanwhile, Bruce’s unofficial guardianship of Jax and Wren might help him navigate this “strange new world” of smartphones and streaming, but it brings its own mysteries: the teens haven’t seen their father in months. Is there a connection? And when will Katya step out of the shadows that appear to follow her everywhere?
Finally in issue #4, Bruce and Joe were able to stop tech guru Ken Blanchard from addressing his acolytes and retrieved a strange piece of hardware in the process. But our heroes still have no idea what Katya had planned for Bruce’s fellow former prisoner, or why she’s now haunting Bruce’s thoughts. Meanwhile, Nakamura nervously stepped into Shen’s shoes, even as Shen began shoe-shopping elsewhere. And the Kids discovered that their house had disappeared.
