In part #1, Baron Von Strucker escapes SHIELD custody and Cap pursues. Meanwhile, the devious Machinesmith uncovers an enormous and dangerous treasure.
Next in part #2, Captain America, Nick Fury, and Dum Dum Dugan are regrouping after defeating the Baron von Strucker robot last issue. However, Machinesmith is not going to give the star-spangled avenger much time off! The robot maker sends Dragon Man to attack Cap! Meanwhile, Steve Rogers meets his attractive new neighbor at his Brooklyn Heights townhouse.
Next in part #3, Can Captain America free himself from the monstrous grip of Dragon Man, or will the diabolical Machinesmith have the last laugh?
Next in part #4, The candidates are lining up for the 1980 presidential election: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Captain America? The New Populist Party wants Cap to run for the presidency as their party’s candidate! What will America’s Sentinel of Liberty decide to do?
Next in part #5, The action begins with a prison break at Ryker’s Island! Batroc the Leaper is springing Mister Hyde! Why? And how does a Roxxon Oil liquid natural gas super-tanker fit into the evil duo’s plans? The star-spangled avenger is about to have a major crisis on his hands!
Next in part #6, The situation is dire indeed for New York City as Mister Hyde and Batroc are poised to crash an explosive LNG super-tanker into the docks of the city! And Captain America is chained to the tanker’s bow! But maybe Cap has a French ally on the inside to help him save the day.
Next in part #7, Captain America is called to London where he us reunited with his World War II friends Jacqueline Falsworth (former Spitfire and Cap’s teammate in the Invaders) and Lord Falsworth (former Union Jack of World War I). There seems to be a slasher on the loose and all the clues point to the Invaders’ old adversary, the vampire Baron Blood!
Next in part #8, It’s an epic battle to the death at Falsworth Manor in England between Captain America and Baron Blood! Can the star-spangled avenger avoid the deadly fangs of Baron Blood and end the threat of the bloodthirsty vampire forever? Just as Captain America and Union Jack teamed up more than 35 years ago to defeat the Third Reich’s vampire, they will have to do so again to taste victory!
Finally in part #9, The origin of Captain America is retold with new details.
