… a world much like yours and mine, only it’s had a super-powered guardian around for the last twenty-five years to protect it from anything and everything that nature or man could throw at it. There is unparalleled peace and prosperity thanks to Captain Wonder. He’s even been voted People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive” five years in a row… a record, I’m told.

But no one has seen or heard from our hero for two agonizing months. And things are going to Hell in a hand basket. Most emergency services have become overly dependent on the presence of a benign super being.

Where is Wonder? Has one of his scores of villains finally hit the mark? The entire world is waiting to exhale and hopes that nothing too terrible occurs before his return.

Now meet Billy Gordon, ten years old and it seems someone is stalking him. What’s going on?

Story/Spoilers
Captain Wonder is a highly sophisticated exoskeleton whose creator deemed too powerful to be given to any government to use. It can only be used by a child who is true of heart, and there have been 24 of them. Each chosen child can use the suit until they outgrow it. The current Captain Wonder has a problem when he undergoes a sudden growth spurt and now needs to find an heir as quickly as possible. Billy seems like the most suitable candidate, but has had no time to train and must become Captain Wonder before he’s ready…

Collectible Entertainment comment: Captain Wonder 3D (2011) is an ill-fated title that was originally to have run for more than the one issue that was published and is therefore an incomplete story (last page ends with “To be continued…”) Nonetheless, Captain Wonder 3D is still awesome from cover to interior.
