Traveling the desert reaches, Conan the Cimmerian finds an old acquaintance, Alvazar, up to his neck in trouble… and sand. Hired to steal a jewel incrusted phallic known as the Demon’s Root from a temple of Set, poor Alvazar was captured and condemned to die in the desert. Freeing his friend, they set out to gain their payment when Conan is confronted by the Djinn of the Stones, slave to the sorcerer who hired Alvazar. One obstacle conquered, and more popping up along the way seems to be the subplot of the tale.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “The Root of all Evil“, In the wretched wastelands of Stygia, Conan comes to the aid of an old ally, uncovers a scheme to acquire untold-of wealth, and punishes his foolish enemies most cruelly. Yet when his treasure hunt reveals an alluring spirit with long unsatisfied needs, the Cimmerian knows a gentler touch is required to win the day.

Next in issue #2, “The Ring of Fire”, A twisted wizard brews a strange adversary for Conan from blood and the dust of the Stygian wastes. In this forsaken desert, the Cimmerian travels in search of an ancient and glorious prize. Yet its secret must be won from the grip of a conniving spirit and loyal zombie guard. Heat, grit, and evil are relentless in this wretched land, but no more so than Conan, a force of will born from sinew and steel, determined to claim his treasure and see it spent most mirthfully.

Next in issue #3, “The Eye of the Demon”, Amidst the burning desolation of Stygia, Conan has acquired a camel, a drunken companion, and objects of great power coveted by a wizard whose greed is only rivaled by his hate. What Conan seeks is profit, but he will take a fight-especially if it means teaching a dark sorcerer about the merciless ways of Cimmerian steel.

Next in issue #4, “Lair of the Worm”, Out of the burning desert and into the biting forest, Conan travels at the advice of a nomadic tribe with the knowledge of how to use his hard-won treasures to unlock the way to a much grander prize. Yet within the wooded darkness hides a grave and bloody threat. Into the stinking bowels of the earth Conan and his party will be driven, where guardians who were once men protect an ancient and powerful secret.

Finally in issue #5, “Dark Gods”, An otherworldly abomination shall rend the veil dividing Conan’s world from unspeakable terrors beyond as a black-hearted sorcerer’s lust for power unleashes an evil that surpasses his control or reckoning. Only the cool head and cold steel of the Cimmerian can save all creation from the slimy, smothering damnation of this unnamable horror.
