Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Familiar Fire”, Riding hard across the Eastern Desert, an older, wiser (but not yet King) Conan is leading a group of nomadic Kozaks when he saves the life of a harlot who bears grim news. She has been privy to the doings of a wizard known as Prince Yezdigerd. His ultimate plan is to reassemble the bones of the wicked wizard known as Kulan Gath, one of Conan’s oldest demonic foes.In an effort to stop Kulan Gath’s unholy resurrection, Conan leaves his loyal Kozaks behind and embarks on a perilous journey through the storied lands of the Hyborean Age. Alone and separated from his men, Conan encounters the sorceress Amarti who is preparing the resurrection of her once and future husband, the all-powerful Kulan Gath!

Next in issue #2, “Skeleton Wings over Turan”, Conan is imprisoned and brought to Akif by Turanian soldiers and Armati where he tries to break free from Shah Amurath’s forces and Armati’s skeleton monster. Isparana secretly goes to a cave to checkout on her child from Wrarrl the Devourer of Souls is being hidden. The child has consumed the flesh of his care taker woman and has grown to full Devourer of Souls. Fafnir shows up looking for her and helps her escape the cave. Armati, meanwhile, brings her husband, Kulan Gath, back to life from his collected bones while Conan fights the skeleton demon in Akif. Kulan Gath empowers Conan with his magic and enslaves him in the hanging garden of Akif.

Finally in issue #3, “Hour of the Demons”, Kozakis attacks Akif while Conan is being tortured in the hanging gardens of Akif by Kulan Gath, Armati, and Shah Amurath. Fafnir and Isparana break into the garden and free Conan from the enslaving vines. Kulan Gath conjures up a fire demon using the sacred flame of Ormuz. Wrarrl, the Devourer of Souls, follows his “mother” Isparana and fights with the fire demon to protect his mother. Isparana kills Armati. After a fight, Conan kills and beheads Kulan Gath. The Devourer of Souls forces the fire demon into Akif’s dam wall which is broken with the impact and water floods and destroys Akif. The fire demon is apparently destroyed by the impact with the dam wall and the overwhelming water flood. Wrarrl disappears. Conan and Isparana wonder what happened to Wrarrl. They believe Shah Amurath also died, but he is shown alive behind a rock surviving the flood. Conan and his companions return victorious from Akif.
