Conan: River of Blood is adapted from the four-part tale originally told in Savage Sword of Conan, which was in turn a sequel to Robert E. Howard’s original story of the meeting of Conan and Valeria in Red Nails.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, In the jungles of the Black Kingdoms, Conan and the female warrior known as Valeria encounter danger in the form of giant crocodiles–which are controlled by a sorcerer! Is the mysterious magician known as Enduin friend or foe? Conan must find out as he and his beautiful companion fight for their lives, caught in the jaws of death!

Next in issue #2, War ignites between the Go’Hengi and M’Ruki tribes of the Black Kingdoms–with Conan and Valeria caught in the middle! And when Enduin (the sorcerer with the ability to control crocodiles) is killed in battle, Conan is left with the power to command the sharp-toothed beasts! Now the mighty barbarian and his dangerous female companion must protect the peaceful Go’Hengi before the river flows with the blood of the innocent!

Finally in issue #3, With the conflict in the Black Kingdoms reaching its height, Conan the Barbarian (along with the lethal Valeria) must bulldoze through overwhelming odds in order to save a village…and his own hide!
