Conan the Barbarian hires on as a mercenary for a ruthless warlord, the evil General Vindictus. But Robert E. Howard’s classic sword-and-sorcery hero must decide whether to stay with the forces who have hired him or protect their target – his homeland, Cimmeria. Conan has some intriguing partners in battle, including a female spear-carrier whom he collects as his reward after besting her and her fellow (male) warriors in battle.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Conan is a merc in the service of the Aquilonian army during a skirmish against the Vanir. They are victorious and Conan requests a favor of his general that he spare one of the Vanir wenches from crucifixion in order to serve as his spearmaiden. She laughs uproariously to learn that the army’s next target will be Conan’s homeland.

Next in issue #2, “The Hammer of Crom”, The Bronze Barbarian returns! Conan rages into battle once again as a hired mercenary for a ruthless warlord, but what will Crom’s #1 son do when the band’s next target is Cimmeria, Conan’s own homeland?!

Finally in issue #3, “The Road of Kings”, Conan’s dilemma: does he stay with the mercenaries who are paying him big bucks, or does he protect their next target–his homeland, Cimmeria?! The epic conclusion to Conan the Barbarian: The Usurper.
