Battlestar Galactica is a large and powerful warship, the last of its kind. Its purpose was to defend the Twelve Colonies of Man in a war against the tyrannical race of machine beings known as the Cylons. The war between man and machine was incessant, with no clear victor in sight. After much destruction on both sides, a peace treaty was signed, ending the war. But it was all a ruse: while the humans were celebrating, the Cylons mounted an all-out attack, decimating the Twelve Colonies.

Gathering the survivors of the onslaught, Adama — the commander of the Galactica — leads a ragtag fleet of spaceships. Their convoy in space is doggedly pursued by the Cylons, who view any surviving human as a threat to their conquest. The Galactica, along with its contingent of Viper fighter craft, defends the fleet as they seek the lost Thirteenth Tribe on a shing planet known as Earth.

Cylon Raider – The primary fighter attack craft of the Cylons. Raiders are typically crewed by three centurions. Two centurions sit up front at the controls to pilot the ship, while the third centurion sits on a raised chair behind the others to command and coordinate. It is armed with two forward-firing laser cannons and can carry bombs in bays within the wings and on racks mounted beneath the wings. Oval in shape, the piloted Raider has two sublight engines for propulsion. The vehicle is both space and atmosphere-capable.
