Kolchak: The Night Stalker is an American television series that aired on ABC during the 1974–1975 season. Kolchak: The Night Stalker was created by Jeff Rice. It featured a fictional Chicago newspaper reporter – Carl Kolchak, played by Darren McGavin – who investigated mysterious crimes with unlikely causes, particularly those that law enforcement authorities would not follow up. These often involved the supernatural or science fiction, including fantastic creatures. The series was preceded by two television movies, The Night Stalker (1972) and The Night Strangler (1973). Although the series lasted only a single season, it garnered a world-wide fan following and is considered a cult classic in horror television. Subsequent novels and comic books later followed. And it later influenced the creation of the X-Files, which is in the same vein as Kolchak: The Night Stalker.

Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. is a fictional character created by Kevin J. Anderson. A horror-comedy detective series by Kevin J. Anderson, chronicling the cases of Dan Chambeaux, private investigator in the Unnatural Quarter. Shot dead while seeking his girlfriend’s murderer, Dan returns to “life” as a zombie: one of countless “unnaturals” spawned by the supernatural upheaval of the Big Uneasy. Even being murdered doesn’t keep a good detective down, and zombie Dan Shamble is back from the dead and back on the case! Together with his ghost-girlfriend Sheyenne, his BHF (Best Human Friend) police officer MacGoo, and Robin Dyer, his civil-rights attorney business partner, Dan tackles mysteries in which a multitude of monsters – natural and unnatural – engage in all-too-human criminal behavior, and anything could be the culprit. And above all, he’s got to figure out a very personal question: who killed him?

Moonstone continues the creepy horror anthology that is: “Kolchak: The Night Stalker” in various comic book related projects. Story/Spoilers
In “Unnaturally Normal”, Kolchak, the irrepressible Night Stalker, wants proof that monsters exist – and Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I., lives in a world where he solves all sorts of everyday crimes among monsters. And when a rogue trio of hoodlum genies decides to use dimensional doorways to dump magical toxic waste, and an unwitting nerdy werewolf kid as their bagman, Kolchak and Shamble find themselves in a hilariously confused situation.
