One of the greatest science fiction franchises of all time!Planet of the Apes is an American science fiction media franchise consisting of films, books, television series, comics, and other media about a world in which humans and intelligent apes clash for control. The series/franchise began with French author Pierre Boulle’s 1963 novel La Planète des Singes, translated into English as Planet of the Apes or Monkey Planet. Later, the 1968 film adaptation, Planet of the Apes, was a critical and commercial hit, initiating a series of sequels, remakes, re-boots, tie-ins, and derivative works. Other media and merchandising tie-ins including books, comics, trading cards, video games, and toys, t-shirts, and much more soon followed. Like Star Wars or Star Trek, the Planet of the Apes is widely considered one of the greatest sci-fi franchises of all time!

Now Boom! Studios and Twentieth Century Fox presents, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Bridging the 10-year gap between the Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes films, fans will bear witness to the fall of humanity and the rise of Caesar’s civilization. Following the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, humanity has fallen, giving way to the dawn of Caesar’s ape civilization. While the apes of the world have yet to advance as a species, Caesar must find a way to unify them to one cause… the domination of the planet. Only then will Earth be known as… the Planet of the Apes!

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, While the apes of the world find themselves unable to advance as a species, Caesar and Koba work tirelessly to find a way to unify them to join their cause. On the other side of the country, Malcolm must venture into the decaying Americas with his family to find a cure for the plague slowly killing his wife while world powers shift, and civilizations simultaneously collapse and rise.

Next in issue #2, After their Rise. Before the Dawn. The end for man is only the beginning for ape. At Koba’s request, Caesar sends a search party into the wild. The time to create sanctuary for all apes is upon them. On the other side of the Americas, Malcolm refuses to let Rita, his wife, die alone. Willing to risk the infection, his family must venture through the harsh and dying cities to find some chance for a cure.

Next in issue #3, As Caesar’s search group ropes new apes into the fold, Pope begins to implement his siege for power and dominance over his newfound tribe. On the other side of America, Malcolm must decide between two worlds-a community built on stability and support or going back on the road for the rumored cure in Austin.

Next in issue #4, Pope’s past comes to light as his ascension from commanded to commander stirs trouble among the apes. With no sign of Pope’s return, Koba must do away with their kinship for the honor of Caesar. Alexander has been taken. Rita is dying as the simian flu takes more of her every day. The hardest days of Malcolm’s life are upon him and there is nothing he can do that will make things right. Nothing to do but try.

Next in issue #5, As Caesar learns the value of sacrificing a few for the many, Koba will be forced to confront Pope and his militia of apes. On the other side of the world, with his son kidnapped and wife fading with every hour, Malcolm has one chance to make things right before it all comes crashing down around him.

Finally in issue #6, Koba and Pope come face-to-face. In this ultimate fight for dominance, Koba will learn that sometimes Caesar doesn’t know what is best for all apes. Malcolm, in a race against time, must find a way to reunite mother and son before it’s too late. Nothing could have prepared him for the horrors he has faced, but the little fight left in him will make sure the time he has left counts.
