Die Hard is a 1988 American action film directed by John McTiernan, with a screenplay by Jeb Stuart and Steven E. de Souza. It is based on the 1979 novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp, and it stars Bruce Willis, Alan Rickman, Alexander Godunov, and Bonnie Bedelia. Die Hard follows New York City police detective John McClane (Willis) who is caught up in a terrorist takeover of a Los Angeles skyscraper while visiting his estranged wife. Reginald VelJohnson, William Atherton, Paul Gleason, and Hart Bochner feature in supporting roles.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1B, John McClane is just another rookie cop, an East Coast guy working on earning his badge in New York City during 1976’s Bicentennial celebration. Too bad for John McClane, nothing’s ever that easy!

Next in issue #2B, Drunks, pimps, freaks and the debauched rich. It’s all in a night’s work for NYPD rookie John McClane. But what happens when 1976’s toughest kid on the street runs into a dark conspiracy involving a blonde on the run? With McClane, it means the fun’s just starting.

Next in issue #3B, John McClane didn’t think patrolling New York City’s Bicentennial celebration would be easy… but he didn’t bank on an eco-terrorist plot! Is the naïve young blonde McClane met the key to unraveling it all? Does that make her a target?

Next in issue #4B, It’s 1976, the Bicentennial in NYC. John McClane’s on a luxury boat… that’s targeted by eco-terrorists! McClane has to take out the villains and save everyone, for the first time in his life! Think his luck will get better in the future?

Next in issue #5B, A new detective has hit the New York City streets… John McClane! He’s got a new rank, a new partner and a new pain in the ass to deal with! A major crime is about to reveal itself. It all starts in a massage parlor then things just get seedier from there.

Next in issue #7B, Det. John McClane has seen some nasty villains in his time. But this is a first. One of New York City’s most glamorous and beautiful women is causing trouble all across the city thanks to a blackout she engineered. Why would she create such mayhem? The answer will shock NYC’s newest detective!

Finally in issue #8B, The rest of his fellow cops are dealing with a blackout. His partner is dealing with problems of her own. The only one who can take down the villain who started all this trouble? New York’s own John McClane! It’s his first case as a detective. Could it be his last?
