Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Krampus One-shot Comic
Writer: Ian Edington

Colorist: Carrie Strachan
Letterer: Jacob Bascle
Editors: Taylor Smith & Dave Land
Cover by: David Youkovich
Evil Dead II (also known in publicity materials as Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn) is a 1987 American black comedy horror film directed by Sam Raimi; it is a sequel to his 1981 horror film The Evil Dead. The film is written by Raimi and Scott Spiegel. Evil Dead II was produced by Robert Tapert and stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, who vacations with his girlfriend to a remote cabin in the woods. He discovers an audio tape of recitations from a book of ancient texts, and when the recording is played, it unleashes a number of demons which possess and torment him.
Now, Space Goat Productions presents, “Revenge of Krampus”! It’s Christmas Eve and as usual Ash is alone with a TV dinner, a bottle of Bourdon, and the Skinimax Channel on cable. This silent night gets unholy when Krampus shows up to take away a neighbor kid! It’s up to Ash to ring his silver bells and maybe end up under the mistletoe with a grateful mom. Ian Edginton returns to Evil Dead 2 with this twisted Christmas tale in Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Krampus! Normally not one to poke his nose into others’ business – and for good reason! – Ash ends up learning there’s more than one way to lose!
Story/Spoilers
It’s Christmas Eve, and inside a messy travel trailer sits the simulacrum clone of Ash Williams, drinking his way through a six pack in honor of his “real” counterpart (wherever he may be) until a panicking woman bangs on his door. Ash recognizes her as his neighbor in the trailer across from his, and she frantically exclaims something is attacking her son, Owen. Inside, Owen is holding his own against a giant, goat-like monster by smacking it with a frying pan, a good enough distraction until Ash arrives. The beast immediately recognizes Ash’s voice and sends Williams flying across the trailer park with a single punch. The fight continues across the park, with human and monster trading mighty blows until the monster apologies for knocking Ash into a dumpster. Seeing as how things can’t get any weirder, Ash asks the monster (who identified himself as Krampus) what is going on. Krampus explains that Father Christmas delivers gifts to the nice children of the world, he gets the naughty ones, and tries to scare them back on to the straight and narrow. Realizing that Krampus isn’t such a bad guy, Ash invites him back to his trailer to share some beer and fried chicken. After an incalculable amount of beer has been consumed, Krampus elaborates on his prior meetings with Ash (the real one), how the young Williams would set traps and fight back against him every year up until he was 13 years old. Ash fills in the rest of the story, saying he walked into a stop sign after seeing a cute girl walk by him, which gave him some memory loss (hence why he couldn’t remember meeting Krampus before). With the story now “complete”, Ash tells Krampus that he should go out and get a real life again, and that the kids of the world won’t be missing anything by getting scared during the holidays. Krampus agrees and thanks Ash. As he begins to leave the trailer, Krampus spots the woman whose child he had just tried to scare. Sometime later in the evening, Ash heads over to the woman’s trailer with a fresh case of beer to see if she fancied a nightcap. She opens the door, only to reveal that Krampus is already inside sharing a drink with her. He tells Ash that Chloe likes hairy guys who smell like goats as he plucks the beer case from Ash’s hands, saying it’s a Christmas miracle he found her.
