Evil Dead II (also known in publicity materials as Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn) is a 1987 American black comedy horror film directed by Sam Raimi; it is a sequel to his 1981 horror film The Evil Dead. The film is written by Raimi and Scott Spiegel. Evil Dead II was produced by Robert Tapert and stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, who vacations with his girlfriend to a remote cabin in the woods. He discovers an audio tape of recitations from a book of ancient texts, and when the recording is played, it unleashes a number of demons which possess and torment him. As with the first film, Evil Dead II has accumulated a large, international cult following. A direct sequel utilizing Raimi’s original premise, Army of Darkness, followed in 1992. It was later followed by a soft reboot and continuation, Evil Dead, which was released in 2013, and a television series, Ash vs Evil Dead, which aired from 2015 to 2018.

Now, Space Goat Productions presents, ”Evil Dead 2: Tales of the Ex-Mortis”, a horror anthology comic mini-series featuring a Groovy Ash-approved new Evil Dead ‘Ash-thology’. Gather ’round ye groovy Ash lovers for an Evil Dead O’Ween treat: the new Evil Dead ‘Ash-thology’ goes all out for a demonic holiday. The new Evil Dead ‘Ash-thology’ tales expand the Evil Dead Universe with high-octane Kandarian horror. This companion series to Evil Dead 2: Beyond Dead By Dawn calls forth surreal Ash-centric stories of Deadites, ghouls, monsters, and more. Featuring four separate stories, “Soul Power” by Justin Peniston and Enza Fontana; “Camp Deserted” by Georgia Ball and Eduardo Garcia; “The Lottery” by regular Evil Dead 2 writer Frank Hannah and Gabriel Rearte; “Deadite Man Walking” by Ivan Cohen and Pericles “PJ” Junior. All tie into the Evil Dead 2 Universe and expand what we know about Deadites, Kandarians, and the Ex-Mortis.

Simmons convinces the agents to let him speak to Afzal, who is possessed by a demon and may know the whereabouts of the Ex-Morits. The demon inside Afzal tells Simmons he doesn’t know where the book is, but if Don helps him escape, he can help him sell his soul to get the love of Britney. Simmons helps him and the demon is transferred into a CIA agent…
