Description
The Fantastic Worlds of Frazetta – Volume 2 Sealed Hardcover
Featuring Frank Frazetta’s Moonmaid, Freedom, Sorcerer, & Neanderthal. Awesome!!
Cover by: Frank Frazetta
Frank Frazetta was an American fantasy and science fiction artist, noted for comic books, paperback book covers, paintings, posters, LP record album covers, the animated film “Fire and Ice”, and other media. He is often referred to as the “Godfather of fantasy art”, and one of the most renowned illustrators of the 20th century. He was also the subject of a 2003 documentary Painting with Fire. Frank Frazetta was inducted into the comic book industry’s Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame, the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame, the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame, the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, and was awarded a Life Achievement Award from the World Fantasy Convention. Frank Frazetta‘s work in comics and animation has won him world-wide recognition and a “cult” fan following. Of which I am one.
Journey to the fantastic worlds of Frank Frazetta in this oversized, limited-edition hardcover that collects four epic Frazetta-inspired tales! Enter a distant world in Moon Maid, as a sheltered young woman finds herself torn between good, evil, and her destiny. Take a trip to the past in Neanderthal, a tale of prehistoric life fraught with danger at every turn, while Freedom is a classic western set in Deadwood three months after the murder of Wild Bill Hickock! Return to the Land of Iparsia in Sorcerer, an essential story of the Frazettaverse set 900 years before the epic “Shadows of Mirahan” storyline from Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer.
Also featuring new, never-before-seen bonus material gallery, this second volume of The Fantastic Worlds of Frank Frazetta is a must-have for any fan of epic fantasy, high adventure, and horror!
The Fantastic Worlds of Frazetta – Volume 2 contains:
Frank Frazetta’s Moon Maid (January 2009)
Writer: Jay Fotos
Artist: Tim Vigil
Colorist: Jay Fotos
Letterer: Jason Hanley
An epic tale inspired by one of Frank Frazetta’s most beloved paintings: Moon Maid! On the dead moon of Kyra, a sheltered young Maid is torn between good and evil. As she comes of age and the equinox draws closer, the Maid learns her true identity and what purpose she has in the universe. The only trick is learning who she can trust…and how to survive her destiny!
——————————————————————————–
Frank Frazetta’s Freedom (March 2009)
Writer: Mark Kidwell
Artist: John Cboins
Letterers: Jay Fotos & Jason Hanley
Frank Frazetta’s Freedom… the first Frazetta Western! In the fall of 1876, three months after the murder of Wild Bill Hickock, another legend rode into Deadwood, South Dakota. The dime novels said he was fast with a six-gun and faster with the ladies–said he’d killed more men than he could count. They called him the Freedom Kid. Sometimes, the pen is indeed mightier than the sword… …and a Legend is a hard thing to live up to..
——————————————————————————–
Frank Frazetta’s Sorcerer (August 2009)
Writer: Joshua Ortega
Artists: Nat Jones & Joshua Medors
Inkers: Nat Jones, Andrew Mangum, & Joshua Medors
Colorist: Jay Fotos
Letterer: Jason Arthur
Return to the Land of Iparsia in this essential story of the Frazettaverse! 900 years before the epic ‘Shadows of Mirahan’ storyline from Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer, the demons of Iparsia begin planning the fall of the Druids, aided by the dark mystic Uja Daja.
——————————————————————————–
Frank Frazetta’s Neanderthal (April 2009)
Writers: Jay Fotos & Chris Ryall
Artists: Jay Fotos & Tim Vigil
Frank Frazetta’s Neanderthal is the latest painting to be brought to vivid life in the true classic style of Frazetta Comics. A tale of Paleolithic life fraught with danger at every turn. Beyond the usual threats from warring tribe and Sabertooth tigers, a tribe of Neanderthals runs up against a threat they couldn’t possibly imagine… and can’t possibly survive.
