Description

Fever Ridge: A Tale of MacArthur’s Jungle War                                         Comics Lot
Writer: Michael Heimos
Artist: Nick Runge
Letterer: Brandon DeStefano
Colorists: Jordie Bellaire & Nolan Wooard
Editor: Tom Waltz
All Covers by: Nick Runge

Fever Ridge explores unique events, perspectives, exotic locales and peoples that are different than any you have encountered in other WWII stories… and ultimately is the story of a secret that could have changed the War, and the world.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, The South Pacific theatre of World War II is usually seen from the perspective of the Marines fighting from Guadalcanal to Okinawa. Unsung in WWII fiction is the story of the 6th Army’s 6th Infantry Division (‘the Sightseein’ Sixth’) and their jungle commandoes, the Alamo Scouts, under the command of Gen. Walter Kreuger, the trusted and savvy lieutenant of ‘America’s Caesar,’ Douglas MacArthur…

Next in issue #2, The river of history flows from the 1860s to MacArthur’s flight from Corregidor under personal threat of the Japanese, to hang him, his wife and 4-year-old son before the eyes of the Emperor.

Next in issue #3, Deep in a still-contested region of New Guinea’s Huon Peninsula, the Scouts come across the remains of a massacred Japanese patrol and meet the men who both perpetrated the ambush, and which would change their lives henceforth…

Finally in issue #4, Erik and Blackie are in complicit captivity in the camp of the Junker-gone native, Baron Anton von Stierland, the inscrutable leader of an ambush crew comprised mainly of the ghostly and fierce Mud Men of the Sepik Valley. Having made their way into the Huon Peninsula in violation of their own Spirits and of local taboos, they are on the hunt for every Japanese soul they can find…
