Fire and Ice is a 1983 American animated dark fantasy adventure film directed by Ralph Bakshi. The film, a collaboration between Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta, was distributed by 20th Century-Fox. The screenplay was written by Gerry Conway and Roy Thomas, both of whom had written Conan stories for Marvel Comics. The animated feature is based on characters co-created by Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta, At the end of the ice age, an evil queen and her son are set on conquering the world using magic and warriors. The lone survivor of a crushed village fights back as does the king of Fire Keep.

Story (Spoilers!)
In issue #1, “Good in Life”, Return to a world of myth and legend, a world of Fire and Ice for a tale of hunters and the hunted, magic and monsters, and the brutal fight for survival when caught between enemy nations. Larn, the young but gifted hunter, gets caught in the machinations of the wicked sorceress Juliana as she consolidates her power among witches, cannibals, and giants, to prepare her siege on the Fire Kingdom to become the ultimate ruler. In this new prequel series to the cult animated film Fire & Ice, we learn some of the backstory to how the Witch and her son began their plans of world domination through the use of magic. The story begins with Thon teaching the children of his tribe about the eternal struggle of life and death via a parable about a Mouse that is caught in the middle of an ongoing fight between a dragon and a tiger. However, midway through Thon’s lesson the tribe which seems to be nomadic gets attacked by a group of sub-humans who are working for the witch who is working for the Queen of the Ice Lands.
