Flash Gordon is the hero of a space opera adventure comic strip created by and originally drawn by Alex Raymond. Flash Gordon also appeared in various TV series (both live action and animated), a theatrical movie (in 1980) and in comics by various publishers.

Now America’s beloved sci-fi hero is back in a brand-new ongoing series by Ardden Entertainment, based on Alex Raymond’s original ideas but with a modernized twist for the 21st century! Flash Gordon, CIA Agent Dale Arden, and mad scientist Dr. Hans Zarkov rocket off to the planet Mongo and find themselves in the middle of a deadly civil war with none other than Ming the “Merciful” at the center of the conflict!

In issue #0, The first preview looks at the new Flash Gordon story “The Mercy Wars” published exclusively for the New York Comic Con and the Comic Expo in the UK. Includes Extra Bonus Story From: The Secret History of Mongo Special – “To Die For”. And… a Ming Pin-Up by Carlos Zuniga & a Flash Gordon Pin-Up by Shanth Enjeti.

In issue #1, “Blast Off!”, CIA Agent Dale Arden draws a reluctant Flash Gordon back into the world of espionage to track down the allegedly insane Hans Zarkov – who’s been accused of creating a weapon of mass destruction. Elsewhere in the universe, Ming the ‘Merciful’s’ tyrannical shadow looms over Mongo, where an impending civil war is escalating!

Next in issue #2, “Lost”, After crash-landing on the planet Mongo, Flash, Dale, and Dr. Zarkov find themselves separated from each other, with Flash wandering the deadly forests of Arboria and Dale waking up as a guest of none other than Ming the ‘Merciful’! 

Next in issue #3, “Arena”, While Flash Gordon and the mysterious Arborian ranger Eldun face off against the terrifying Lion Men and their leader, Prince Thun, Dale Arden finds herself more and more involved in Ming’s plans to unify Mongo. Meanwhile, Dr. Zarkov wakes up the captive of a sadistic group of winged warriors!

Next in issue #4, “Secrets & Lies”, As Flash, Prince Thun, and the mysterious Arborian ranger Eldun storm the floating prison city of the Hawk Men to rescue Dr. Zarkov, Prince Barin attempts to defend the ice-bound land of Frigia against an unending horde of the Emperor’s troops. Meanwhile, Dale and Ming continue to grow dangerously close!

Next in issue #5, “Crossfire”, As Flash, Thun, and Vultan plan their final attack on Ming’s citadel, Prince Barin makes a surprise return – but the alliance between the rebel leaders only worsens. Meanwhile, Dale realizes that Ming is nowhere near as benevolent as he’s presented himself – and she plots her escape from his seemingly inescapable city!

Finally, in issue #6, “Assault the Fate of a Galaxy”, Flash, Dale, Zarkov, Barin, Thun, Vultan and their army of Lion Men, Arborian Rangers, and Hawk Men take the fight directly to Ming’s palace! Meanwhile, a new, though familiar, threat rears its head.
