Flash Gordon is the protagonist of a space opera adventure comic strip created and originally drawn by Alex Raymond. First published January 7, 1934, the strip was inspired by, and created to compete with, the already established Buck Rogers adventure strip. The Flash Gordon comic strip has been translated into a wide variety of media, including motion pictures, television, and animated series. The latest version, a Flash Gordon television series, appeared on the Sci-Fi Channel in the United States in 2007-2008.

Earth is attacked by a powerful alien invasion force, led by the sinister, all-seeing Ming the Merciless. And this time, he does not fight alone. Allied with the sinister spymaster Klytus, his exotic and treacherous daughter, Princess Aura… and Adolf Hitler! Flash Gordon, the tough, determined Dale Arden, and the brilliant scientist Hans Zarkov – are plucked from our world and rocketed into another universe of fearsome creatures, noble and savage alien species, ancient science, and titanic threats!

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1D, The year is 1934, a time of two-fisted swashbuckling, of fearsome threats and wild adventure – and of ever-growing threats on the horizon. Three valiant humans – Flash Gordon, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov – are plucked from the Earth, traveling to the distant planet Mongo. Their exploits are legendary, battling the machinations and terror schemes of the dreaded emperor Ming, the All-Seeing Ruler of Mongo. But they did not fight alone…
