Paul (1884-1963), a new member of the Science-Fiction Hall of Fame, is the undisputed father of science-fiction illustration. He designed the cover and the logo for the first issue of Amazing Stories in 1926 and went on to paint 38 more covers for Amazing Stories and 200 other covers for Air Wonder Stories, Science Wonder Stories, Wonder Stories Planet Stories, Superworld Comics, Science Fiction, Science Fiction Plus and the first issue of Marvel Comics. His most famous Amazing Stories cover is probably that from August 1927, illustrating a reprint of H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds. This is a thrilling collection of art by the man who was at the forefront of the genre. Essays by Korshak, Arthur C. Clarke and others.
