Story/Spoilers
In issue #94, “The Snake-Eyes Trilogy Part 1: Warrior Reborn!”, The story starts with Snake-Eyes being operated on. During the operation he dreams of his days in Vietnam. Stalker and Snake-Eye’s squad is ambushed on the on the road during the Tet offensive. Snake-Eyes follows the ambushers back to their warehouse hideout. At the same time The Baroness and her brother the Baron DeCobray are visiting that warehouse. The Baron thought he was supplying medical supplies but in reality, his money was being used to fight the war. The Baron confronts the two ambushers about the funds, but before during so he asks the Baroness to leave the room. Snake-Eyes busts into the room just as the ambushers shoot the Baron. The Baroness sees this and blames Snake-Eyes for her brother’s death. The Baroness leads a squad of Cobra troops to ambush Scarlet and Snake-Eyes. Hawk tips Scarlet off about the ambush but it’s too late. Snake-Eyes is still drugged from the surgery and they both are caught. The Baroness exact some revenge of her own.
Next in issue #95, “The Snake-Eyes Trilogy Part 2: No Turning Back!”, The Baroness brings Snake-Eyes to the Cobra Consultant building in NYC. Her plans to torture Snake-Eyes are interrupted by an unexpected visit of Destro. Snake-Eyes uses the distraction to make his escape. He believes the Baroness has killed Scarlet and he wants revenge. Stalker, Storm Shadow, and Wade Collins all former members of Snake Eye’s old squad in Vietnam are across the street from the Consultant building. They charge the building during the melee. Scarlet is actually alive and is being rushed to a hospital.
Finally issue #96, “The Snake-Eyes Trilogy Part 3: No Surrender!”, The story climaxes as Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow mount an escape from the burning Cobra Consulate building. Destro and the Joes move in to help their respective sides, with Destro revealing to the Baroness that Snake-Eyes wasn’t responsible for her brother’s death, since Destro had arrived there alongside his father after the incident as it was being investigated and learned what truly had happened that fateful day. The past is finally revealed in total by Destro.
