Starting in May 2007, a Grimm Fairy Tales spin-off and limited series called Return to Wonderland debuted. Written by Raven Gregory, the series tells the tale of Alice Liddle, the heroine of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and her teenage daughter, Calie Liddle. Alice is no longer the little girl who fell down the rabbit hole and discovered Wonderland. Now an adult, she once tried to commit suicide by slitting her wrists. Mentally disturbed and in a dream-like state, her only link to reality is the disturbing white rabbit that she clings to. Calie, not wanting to deal with her mother’s mental illness, is now a substance-abusing, alcoholic, promiscuous party girl. The series will deal with the entire Liddle family, Alice’s childhood, and Calie venturing into a darker and more frightening Wonderland than the one her mother knows. Look for; the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar, the Carpenter, the Walrus, Tweedledee, Tweedledum, the Cheshire Cat, the Jabberwocky, the March Hare, and the Cook.

Next in issue #2, Welcome to the other side of the rabbit hole. Calie has entered Wonderland and much has changed since her mother last visited this strange terrifying world. It’s a Wonderland like none has seen before.

Next in issue #3, Calie, Alice’s teenage daughter, is stranded in Wonderland and on the run from the twisted beings that occupy this realm. After escaping the Carpenter she is slowly discovering that in Wonderland… nowhere is safe. Now she will come face-to-face with a creature of sadistic desire and uncannily deceptive skills. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. A madness known only as the… Mad Hatter!

Next in issue #4, Calie, Alice’s teenage daughter, ventures deeper and deeper in the world of Wonderland and enters the malicious kingdom of the Queen of Hearts. But the Queen of Hearts is far from the worse of her troubles. For somewhere in the jungles of Wonderland a creatures stalks and waits for its moment to strike. That creature is the Cheshire Cat.

Next in issue #5, The Queen of Hearts is dead at the hands of the Cheshire Cat, or is she? Not everything is as it seems. Calie, Alice’s teenage daughter, has come face to face with the monstrous Cheshire Cat. Will Calie escape the madness of Wonderland or be trapped in this world forever more?

Next in issue #6, The journey into the dark world of Wonderland and back reaches its climatic conclusion. Calie, Alice’s teenage daughter, has escaped Wonderland and returned to the real world with the help of her mother. But Wonderland doesn’t let go so easily and the Liddle family will soon learn its terrible price as the true origin of Wonderland is revealed.
