Description
Grimm Fairy Tales/Sinbad: Crossover Trade Paperback
Editors: Raven Gregory, John McCullough & Ralph Tedesco
Cover by: Eric Basaldua & Caesar Rodriguez
This special crossover ties together two of Zenescopes most popular series in Grimm Fairy Tales and 1001 Arabian Nights. Baba Yaga has long planned her revenge against the Dark One. Ever since he murdered her family when she was a child she has been consumed by her quest to destroy him. Now with Belinda at her side she has begun to gather the pieces to put her plan for vengeance in motion and the next piece lies not in our time but far in the past with one of the world’s most famous adventurers…an adventurer that goes by the name of Sinbad. Unfortunately, Sinbad’s crew has been transformed into zombies by a voodoo priestess who plans to reunite the captain with his crew to help her carry out a special quest…and she’ll take him alive or dead.
Grimm Fairy Tales/Sinbad: Crossover contains:
Grimm Fairy Tales/Sinbad Crossover Chapters #1-3
Writers: Joe Brusha & Dan Wickline
Artists: Sheldon Goh & Shamus Beyale
Colorists: Chris Shields & Jeremy Colwell
Letterer: Jim Campbell
In part #1, Sinbad’s crew competes against a rival crew of Jake Crane to be the first to bring Cyclops blood to Santalista to collect a reward. Sinbad arrives first, but during the celebration feast all the members of his crew are poisoned. Doc Carou intends to use the Cyclops blood to bring the crew back to life under his complete control. When Doc Carou finds that Sinbad did not drink the poisoned rum, he and his small band attempt to kill Sinbad, but Sinbad kills them all instead. Acacia vows vengeance against Sinbad when she sees that Doc Carou is dead.
Next in part #2, Acacia has brought Sinbad’s crew back to life as mindless beings under her complete control. She has also brought her lover, Doc Carou, back to life and restored his mind. After using his own crew to capture Sinbad, she bargains with him to lead her ship through Ahriman’s Teeth, promising to restore the minds of his crew. Sinbad leads her ship through the Teeth, but once Acacia gets a gem to control a powerful monster she orders Sinbad’s crew to kill him instead of restoring their minds. Belinda and Baba Yaga arrive to save Sinbad from his own crew.
Finally in part #3, Sinbad, Belinda and Baba Yaga battle Acacia, Doc Carou and Azhi Dahaka, a three-headed dragon also known as the Shadow of Death. The battle turns when Sinbad kills Doc Carou and wrests the gem that controls Azhi Dahaka from Acacia. That battle won, Baba Yaga takes the gem from Sinbad and Belinda returns Sinbad to Lagos with no memories of Baba Yaga or Belinda. Acacia, who escaped the battle, reanimates Sinbad’s dead crew and sets sail with the single purpose of finding and killing Sinbad.
