Artist: Sergio Aragones
Letterer: Stan Sakai
Colorist: Tom Luth
Editors: Cardner Clark & Patrick Thorpe
All Covers by: Sergio Aragones

The gods did not bless Groo with brains, only with the ability to battle. Now, they themselves are in conflict over the spirit and future of mankind… and it is Groo who becomes the pawn (unwitting, of course) in their war. If the future of humanity depends on the wanderer-we’re all in a lot of trouble.

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, Welcome to the first issue of the new Groo miniseries. This is the inside front cover, where we recap what occurred in the previous issue, which we cannot do because, like we said, this is the first of the new Groo miniseries. All you need to know as we start is that Groo is a wandering mercenary soldier who is feared by anyone with a bit of sense, because he has but a bit of sense. He also has swords, a very loyal dog, a taste for cheese dip, and a tendency to cause trouble. This time out, he’s going to cause trouble for the gods – or maybe they cause it for him…

Next in part #2, See it happen in this issue: The rise and fall of the Star God, a pretender to the heavens and a deity who won’t last as long as this series by the award-winning duo of Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier. You’d think a god could live forever . . . and maybe one could if his godlike path hadn’t been crossed by the wandering disaster that is Groo. Once upon a last issue, there was a king who ruled the land of Traga and who had two sons. Saffi was devoted to the traditional gods and Cuffi was devoted to… well to Cuffi. When their father died, Saffi took the throne and sat on it for nearly 3 hours before Cuffi seized it. banned all reverence for the gods and insisted that everyone pray to the newly-conceived Star God, who was more or less Cuffi. And if you can’t figure things out from there, you should have bought the previous issue.

Next in part #3, What does a god do when his followers stop following? Easy: He makes them follow. Ravenous the Insatiable (one of your greedier gods) and his minions do godlike things to his flock. That is, until the godforsaken warrior named Groo shows up. Then the new order of Ravenous faces a challenge, and all the believers suddenly believe it’s time to flee. Once upon a miniseries, there were two brothers named Saffi and Cuffi. They were the sons of a king and when said king died, Saffi ascended to the throne. This pleased everyone except Cuffi, who decided to seize the throne, and then he lost the throne, but he took the treasury, and then… Well, it was all very messy. One way in which Cuffi managed to rise to some power was by inventing a new god formed in his own imagine, and you’ll pick up the rest as we go along. We now join our star Groo in mid-feasting…

Finally in part #4, It’s the last issue of a four-issue Groo miniseries, Groo finds himself in the midst of a battle twixt the awesome, all-powerful gods and maybe a few lesser ones. So, you’ve got your King Saffi. His brother Cuffi made off with the royal treasury, so Saffi sent Groo on a noble quest to find Cuffi and reclaim the treasury. Then you have your King Cuffi. Cuffi is the inventor of the recently created ancient god known as the Star God. Thanks to the growing belief in the Star God, Cuffi has become very wealthy and powerful, and he also has sent Groo on a number of quests, and that’s where we are today. If you don’t understand what’s going on, too bad. You should have bought the first three issues.
