It is the year 3007. Mankind has long since colonized the various planets of the solar system, and after generations, the colonists have evolved to match the conditions on each of these worlds. After six months of solitary spaceflight, the Jovian astronaut, Charlie-27, finally arrived home. Unknown to him, the lizard-like Badoon race had conquered most of the solar system while he was alone in space. Narrowly escaping imminent death by the occupying forces of Jupiter, Charlie sought out others to aid him in his struggle. Soon, he joined forces with renegades from other conquered worlds: Martinex, a crystalline being from Pluto; Yondu, the last Centaurian; and an Earth astronaut named Vance Astro. Together, they became the Guardians of the Galaxy – and the last chance for Earth’s descendants to reclaim their homeworlds.

The Spirits of Vengeance were a team of benevolent beings who protected mankind during ancient times. Their exact origins are a mystery, as some have claimed that they were the vestiges of “God’s power” bonded to human hosts and calling themselves Ghost Riders, while others have claimed them to be demons in the service of Mephisto. There have been different sorts of Spirits of Vengeance around the world based on each region’s customs, beliefs, and religions. Keeping them under control was the archangel Zadkiel, whose sole purpose was to keep the Spirits’ purportedly true origin a secret. What does the 31st century hold in store for the Spirit of Vengeance…?

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, The Ghost Rider of the 31st century thinks the Guardians are enforcers of the Church of Universal Truth – his mortal enemies. This could mean the death of Starhawk!

Finally in issue #2, The Spirit of Vengeance vs. the Guardians of the Galaxy! Meanwhile, our heroes become surrounded by The Universal Church and Replica is forced to make the toughest decision of her life!
