Havok & Wolverine’s vacation proves to be anything but peaceful when Meltdown, a former Soviet general, takes an interest in Alex. Meltdown and his operatives separate the two X-Men and while the beautiful Quark tries to manipulate Havok into giving her master the power he wants, the malevolent military man learns just how hard it can be to kill Wolverine. Wielding mind control, manipulation, and weapons with an even hand Meltdown leads Havok and Wolverine on a chase spanning three continents, leaving a trail of rubble and bodies in their wake.

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, Alex and Logan are vacationing in Mexico when they are forced to abscond with the car of a beautiful woman to escape from Mexican gunmen (she comes along for the ride). Their peril continues as they are chased by goons with lasers whom Havok dispatches with a few well placed plasma bolts. No one is more surprised than our heroes, however, when their new girlfriend pulls out a gun and shoots them. Wolverine wakes up in the hospital to learn that he and Alex were pumped full of bubonic plague and Alex has died. Suspicious, Logan digs up Alex’s grave to find a dummy in the coffin.

Next in part #2, Wolverine tries to track down Havok who has been captured and brainwashed by the beautiful Quark into thinking that she is his rescuer and that Wolverine is a spy who is trying to kill him.

Next in part #3, Logan is captured and has his brain radioactively mindwiped courtesy of Meltdown and Neutron. When Havok and Quark arrive, they are confronted by a feral Wolverine who tries very hard to kill them. Havok is forced to blast Logan into oblivion with one of his strongest plasma bolts.

Finally in part #4, Learning of a leaking power plant in India, Havok and Quark quickly fly in to try and save the day. After absorbing a massive amount of radiation, Havok is confronted by Meltdown who incinerates Quark with a blast. Havok retaliates and tries to blast Meltdown into oblivion, exactly what the villain wants. Wolverine, whom Meltdown believed to be dead, shows up and helps Alex cut the powered-up bad guy down to size. After ridding himself of the extra radiation he has absorbed, Havok mourns the loss of Quark as he and Logan return to their long delayed vacation.

Collectible Entertainment note: Hardcover is in Very Fine condition.
