Invaders from Mars is a 1953 American science fiction film independently produced by Edward L. Alperson Jr., directed by William Cameron Menzies, screenplay by Richard Blake. The film starred Jimmy Hunt, Helena Carter, Arthur Franz, Morris Ankrum, Leif Erickson, and Hillary Brooke.
Captain Mark Thyme and Josh are back again to thwart the Invaders from Mars, but this time it’s their turn to take it to the Aliens. Earth’s unlikely defenders head a mission to Mars in order to surprise the Martians before they have another chance to return and attack Earth.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, In a special security meeting at the Pentagon, Captain Mark Thyme’s concerns about the Martians and his pleas to launch a counter attack fall on unbelieving ears. Just then… the door burst open with a General Condon proclaiming…”Your plan has a green light. Begin constructing your rocket immediately.” Meanwhile, Josh suffers from all that has happened before, and swears. “…I’m gonna get that Martian for what he’s done.” Later, unexpectedly, Captain Mark Thyme shows up at Josh’s house with the news that he’s taking the battle to Mars and wants Josh to come. Josh readily agrees and proclaims, ” I’m coming Martian and nothing you can do can stop me.” Soon after, the USAF rocket ship, Starblazer touches down on the Mars surface… only to be greeted/surrounded by hostile Martians.
Next in issue #2, The captured crew of the USAF rocket ship, Starblazer are taken to the Martian capital city. Through Josh, communication with the Martians is established. The Martian Consul explains that there are two “species” on Mars, the Tsuku which live on the surface and the Boshi which live underground… and that it is the Boshi that are the true enemies of Earth. An allegiance is quickly formed between the Tsuku and the crew of the USAF rocket ship, Starblazer. The bad blood between the Tsuku and the Boshi has been allowed for too long. It’s time for battle… and an assault is planned… with Captain Mark Thyme leading a battalion against the Boshi!
Finally in issue #3, It’s the final battle to the death when Captain Mark Thyme, Josh and the Tsuku invade the underground caverns of the Boshi. To their surprise, only one has stayed behind to destroy them, while the rest have gone back to Earth. Can anything or anybody thwart these Invaders from Mars?
