Writer: Don McGregor

Letterer: Elitta Fell
Editors: Dick Hansom, Edward Martin III & Robert V. Conte
All Covers by: Christopher Moeller
The martinis will be shaken, not stirred, as Dark Horse proudly presents a spectacular new James Bond series based on the popular Ian Fleming characters! Master secret agent James Bond swings back into action in this 1995 mini-series. Here we find him on the trail of Jefferson Rifle, an arms supplier who specializes in equipping terrorists, thugs, and other lowlifes with exotic weaponry.
The action begins in Jamaica, as Bond comes to the aid of Nebula Valentina, a beautiful liaison officer operating locally to stop Rifle. No sooner have they joined forces, however, than they must deal with the man himself. Rifle had been meeting with a group of religious fanatics who sought arms for some secret means. As the deal went down, Bond and Valentina stepped in. In the melee that followed, Rifle was killed, but the fanatics (which included a giant hunchback nicknamed “Quasimodo”) made off with the weapons. A truckload of armaments in the hands of fanatics is bad enough. The real trouble, however, was only beginning.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, In the tropical paradise of Jamaica, things are not as picturesque as the travel brochures would suggest. Sent to stop a notorious arms dealer called Rifle, James Bond once again finds more than he bargained for. Rifle’s clients turn out to be Elias Hazlewood and the Disciples of the Heavenly Way, a successful televangelist operation. Among the Way’s membership is Maximillian “Quasimodo” Steel, a reformed mercenary. He’s got a plan to stop the Beast and further God’s cause. That is, unless James Bond can stop him first.
Next in issue #2, Bond’s midnight excursion into The Estate for the Disciples of the Heavenly Way reveals that the believers are more than just quiet and devout – they’re fanatical soldiers bent on the destruction of The Beast – whatever that is! Following leads and his instincts, he heads deep into the Georgia swamps, only to find his worst fears confirmed and a bloody nightmare from which he cannot escape!
Finally in issue #3, It’s the shortest day of the year in the heart of the Big Apple and, for some, the last day. Maximillian “Quasimodo” Steel has found The Truth and all who stand in his way are targets. Her Majesty’s finest, James Bond, is ready to stop him any way possible, but there’s a final wild card in this deck…and no one may live to see the light of tomorrow!
