Description
Judge Dredd: Raptaur Comics Lot
Featuring Judge Dredd vs. a deadly ALIEN PERP!
Writer: Alan Grant
Artist: Dean Ormston
Letterer: Tom Frame
Covers by: Dean Ormston
The Raptaur is the name of a deadly species of alien. They can dismember people in seconds with razor-sharp claws, and their preferred food is human brains. They can create a psi-fog at will and also secrete a toxin which saps the will to live and encourages their prey to submit without resistance; several Raptaurs were “milked” for this toxin to create a drug. Dredd encountered and eventually killed one in 2113. Jack Point has owned two as pets (Cliq and Larf), and describes them as both “harder than a diamond on PCP” and being more dangerous than the xenomorphs (Aliens) Mr. Bones found.
Now Fleetway/Quality presents a quasi-mash up of Alien and the Predator versus Judge Dredd. As the streets of Mega-City run red with blood, an Alien monster is about to face final justice as it goes toe-to-toe with The Law! The painted, prestige format comic series originally appeared in Judge Dredd Megazine Vol. 1 (1991-1192) issues #11-17, as a 7 part story. Please see all the scans to see interior artwork of the “Alien”. Awesome!!
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, In Mega-City One, a violent city of the future, one man is The Law – judge, jury and executioner. That man is hard-bitten future cop, Judge Dredd. When a series of brutal killings take place in Mega-City One, Judge Dredd soon discovers that an alien killing-machine is stalking the streets, hungry for prey.
Finally in issue #2, As if things were not already bad enough in crime-ridden Mega-City One, a murderous monster (reminiscent of the Aliens) is roaming the streets and tearing its victims to shreds. Judge Dredd is called upon to track down the behemoth and bring it to justice. Dredd follows the trail of bodies until he actually catches the monster in the act. Unfortunately, the murderous fiend escapes, leading Judge Dredd on a complicated and deadly chase which culminates into an even deadlier confrontation.
