Description

Ka-Zar The Savage #1-34             Comics Lot
Marvel Comics (1981-1984) Complete Series

Kevin Plunder, also known as Ka-Zar, is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in The X-Men #10 (March 1965). Kevin Plunder is the second character to use the codename Ka-Zar. Like Tarzan, that other great jungle-man, Ka-Zar was once a creature of civilization. Lord Kevin Plunder’s father had been a scientist and explorer who discovered the Savage Land – a strange jungle oasis in the heart of the Antarctic. In the Savage Land, his father had discovered a substance known as anti-metal. When outside forces tried to wrest its secrets from him, he sought refuge with his son in the Savage Land. Instead, he was killed by a group of man-apes who were hunting a giant sabre-tooth tiger. The sabre-tooth, a giant cat named Zabu, used that moment to turn on his attackers, slaying them. The tiger formed an attachment to the now-orphaned boy, and watched over him. The boy then grew up to be Ka-Zar, Lord of the Savage Land.

Marvel Comics presents Ka-Zar The Savage, Ka-Zar’s most critically acclaimed own ongoing comic-book series. The series was published from 1981 to 1984 and lasted for 34 issues.

It’s a new world for the jungle lord! A hunt for his four-legged friend Zabu takes Ka-Zar beyond the Savage Land and into the ancient paradise of Pangea! From shining citadels to the lofty heights of the Aerie, it’s a land filled with newfound friends – and fresh dangers! Caught between bird-people and pterons, will Kevin Plunder meet his end or find new love? Either way, things will soon get complicated between Ka-Zar and Shanna the She-Devil. But Shanna isn’t short of other suitors herself, including… Spider-Man?! And abandon all hope when Ka-Zar faces a twisted version of Dante’s Inferno! This fresh hell comes complete with a Minotaur, Cerberus…and the demonic Belasco! Plus: Alien nightmares, a jungle wedding and tiger tales of Zabu in this complete comic collection of a series that, like the Savage Land, is a hidden treasure!
