After King Conan of Aquilonia’s army has been slain, he is taken prisoner and put into the Kothian dungeon at Khorshemish He rescues a sorcerer, Pelias and escapes, only to find that the capital Tarantia has been taken over by a rival in his absence, and the Kothian army is set to destroy another city…

In issue #1, Even though he’s been beaten nearly to death, chained to a wall, and locked away deep within Tsotha’s fortress, Conan is by no means out of commission…
Next in issue #2, While the foes and betrayers who stripped him of his crown celebrate their acquisition of Aquilonia, Conan plans his escape. However, an additional, seemingly insignificant foe from Conan’s past stalks Tsotha’s horrific dungeons waiting for a chance to kill the legendary barbarian.
Next in issue #3, Conan goes against his ingrained barbarian instincts and sides with a strange wizard in order to topple those who ensnared them both in the horrific dungeons beneath the Scarlet Citadel
Finally in issue #4, Conan races to Aquilonia to regain his throne with the aid of Pelias the Wizard!
