Kolchak: The Night Stalker is an American television series that aired on ABC during the 1974–1975 season. Kolchak: The Night Stalker was created by Jeff Rice. It featured a fictional Chicago newspaper reporter—Carl Kolchak, played by Darren McGavin—who investigated mysterious crimes with unlikely causes, particularly those that law enforcement authorities would not follow up. These often involved the supernatural or science fiction, including fantastic creatures. The series was preceded by two television movies, The Night Stalker (1972) and The Night Strangler (1973). Although the series lasted only a single season, it garnered a world-wide fan following and is considered a cult classic in horror television. Subsequent novels and comic books later followed. And it later influenced the creation of the X-Files, which is in the same vein as Kolchak: The Night Stalker.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1A, Night stalking reporter Carl Kolchak doesn’t have time for horror movies. His life is scary enough – and now he’s between jobs and desperate for a paycheck. But when a young actress goes missing on the set of a low-budget monster flick, he soon discovers that making it big in Hollywood can be murder!

Next in issue #2A, Things are looking up for night stalking reporter Carl Kolchak. He’s got a new job in sunny South Florida with a fat paycheck and an editor who loves him. But deep in the heart of the Everglades, something inhuman is on the prowl; a terrifying creature with a taste for human flesh.

Finally in issue #3A, Deep in the heart of the wild Everglades, a bloodthirsty swamp beast is on the hunt for human prey. But, when reporter Carl Kolchak sets out with a U.S. Marshall to find the creature, he learns the hard way that not all monsters are what they seem to be!
