Writer: Tom Veitch
Artist: Cam Kennedy
Letterer: Gaspar Saladino
Editor: Archie Goodwin
All Covers by: Cam Kennedy
The Light and Darkness War chronicles the adventures of a disabled Vietnam veteran who is transported to an afterlife dimension in a never-ending war. Lazarus Jones is a Vietnam veteran who lost his legs in an helicopter explosion, which also killed all his friends. Years later he still thinks he must have died with them and lives in despair. He experiences flashbacks and hallucinations, causing him grave concern, especially when it transpires they may not be hallucinations, but trips into another dimension, where his friends are still alive and have taken sides along with Leonardo DaVinci and other dead geniuses as they rally forces for the ultimate battle… a never-ending war under the tutelage of Cthulhu.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “In the Beginning, There was Nothing / In the End, There was Nothing”, Vietnam veteran Lazarus Jones is reunited with his friends Eagle, Huff & Slaw at the edge of the Outer Darkness in the Abraxas star system to fight a new war.
Next in issue #2, “Modern Guns – From Earth!”, Lord Na’s plan to subjugate the galaxy of light includes traveling through the dimensions…and procuring weapons from Earth!
Next in issue #3, “Thunder on Palace Walls, Blood on Palace Floors”, Nicholas Tesla uses the mental television device to communicate across dimensions with his uncle, while Laz and the gang take an unexpected trip.
Next in issue #4, “Give me a Huey over a Stone Battle-Boat any day!”, Nicholas Tesla meets with Lord Na, even as his uncle Nikola has an encounter with Leonardo da Vinci, while Laz and the gang make their way back with some surprises in store for Na.
Next in issue #5, “Let us Speak of the Darkness”, Laz tries to adjust to his life back on Earth, while Nikola Tesla delivers his weapon of war.
