Description
Lost in Space (1991 – 1993) Comics Lot
Innovation Comics Complete Series
Lost in Space was an American science fiction television series, created and produced by Irwin Allen, which originally aired between 1965 and 1968. The series follows the adventures of the Robinsons, a pioneering family of space colonists who struggle to survive in the depths of space. The Robinsons were to have been the first family in space, accompanied by Major West and Robby the Robot. Unfortunately, the duplicitous Dr. Smith brought catastrophe on the crew, sending them spinning out of control into the far reaches of space. Ironically, Dr. Smith was trapped aboard the Jupiter 2 with the rest of the crew. Everyone has plenty of time to chew Smith out as they try to find their way back home.
Now Innovation continues the adventures of the Robinsons, the first family in space. The Lost in Space comic series presents more far-out adventures on a variety of strange worlds. Unfortunately, Dr. Smith seems not to have learned from his mistakes, and his greedy, cowardly nature never fails to lead the crew into trouble.

The Aeolians, led by Lord J’ahl (who had been contact with Dr. Smith since before the beginning of the Jupiter project), wrecked the Robot and took the Jupiter 2 crew hostage… with the intent torture and kill them – all of this in revenge for the death of P’ezu, the Aeolian leader’s son, at the hands of humans ten years earlier! John Robinson, in particular (as the leader of the Jupiter mission), was severely beaten by the sadistic alien overlord. As our story ended, the Robinsons were being taken to the mysterious Great Machine – to be used as guinea pigs in the Aeolian’s experiments to decipher the workings of the enigmatic alien device…

Lost in Space #15 – August 1993
Writer: Bill Mumy
Artist: Michal Dutkiewicz

Next in issue #15, “They Tumble Blindly”, Upon their arrival, however, the hardy space pioneers were viciously attacked by forces of the Aelous 14 Umbra, led by the mad despot, J’ahl – an attract that was facilitated by Dr. Smith’s misguided allegiance to the Umbra, who he believed would return him to Earth and reward him handsomely. Instead of a reward, the Aeolians interrogated and tortured the Robinsons – severely beating John to near death – ransacked the Jupiter 2 and virtually destroyed the robot. All this was done by the insane J’ahl as retribution for the death of his son, P’ezu, at the hands of the U.S. Government and Alpha Control. After their interrogation, the Robinsons, Major West and Dr. Smith were all “tagged” with subdural homing devices, implanted at the base of the neck, and led to the Great Machine – a mysterious device of unknown alien origin, discovered over a decade earlier by the Aeolians and whose functions remain, as yet, unfathomable to the gelatinous hostiles. Our story ended with the Robinson “guinea pigs” being totally discorporated and vanishing from the dais of the Great Machine, to the unbridled delight of J’ahl…

Lost in Space #16 – September 1993
Writer: Bill Mumy
Artists: Michal Dutkiewicz, Ben Selby, Ivan Rohorek, Fiona Tobin & Tak Cheung
Cover by: Mike Deodato Jr.
Next in issue #16, “Shades of Earth”, Our heroes were then totally discorporated, split into three groups, and made to vanish from the dais of the Great Machine — to the unbridled delight of J’ahl, who thought them dead. In reality, the space family was teleported across space (and possibly time and other dimensions) to three different destinations. John, Maureen, and Penny have arrived on an alien world resembling, somewhat, the Australian outback. As a result of his head trauma, John is completely devoid of any memories of Maureen, Penny, or his past life as the Robinson patriarch. Don and Judy arrived on an Eden-like world. They are, so far, the only humans to set foot on this world. Will and Dr. Smith landed in the middle of a hostile, radioactive plain, where they had to fend off hoards of radiation-sick mutates. This irradiated dystopia turned out to be the remains of Camp Pendleton – on Earth!

Next in issue #17, “Like a Restless Wind”, Back on Proxima-4, the Robot and Penny’s menagerie attempt to repair the Jupiter 2 and continue their search for the Robinsons. Detecting life readings deep below the planet’s surface, the Robot begins digging his way underground (convinced that these readings may be the Robinsons), much to the confused bemusement of his Aeolian watchdogs. Don and Judy continue to adjust to life in paradise, giving up the pressures and frustrations of their former lives in favor of simpler pleasures. John Robinson, much to the consternation of his forgotten wife and daughter, decides to venture out to their hideaway cave and into the nearby alien town. Nearly asphyxiated, Will and Smith were rescued from radioactive death (and from being eaten by cannibalistic mutates) by Ana Saldana – ex-girlfriend of gang chieftain, Roberto Carlos Diaz – to be used as “bargaining chips” to help her regain favor in the eyes of the leader of the Lobos De Lunas…

Finally in issue #18, “Change My World”, Back on Proxima-4, the Robot and Penny’s menagerie attempt to repair the Jupiter 2 and continue their search for the Robinsons. Detecting life readings deep below the planet’s surface, the Robot begins digging his way underground (convinced that these readings may be the Robinsons), much to the confused bemusement of his Aeolian watchdogs. Instead of his earthly charges, the mechanical stalwart finds a subterranean society of rock-like philosophers who apparently, are responsible for constructing the Great Machine – and hold the secret of its operation. Don and Judy, having married in a ceremony atop the hill where they first arrived on the Eden-like planet, continue to adjust to life in paradise as husband and wife, giving up the pressures and frustrations of their former lives in favor of simpler pleasures – which, now, will include another, as Judy announces her impending motherhood. John Robinson, much to the consternation of his forgotten wife and daughter, decides to venture out of their hideaway cave and into the nearby alien town, where he runs afoul of the local, dictatorial constabulary while protecting a local farmer, Deetz, from a severe beating by three self-same sentries – a beating which stirs memories of John’s own tortures by the maniacal J’ahl. Nearly asphyxiated, Will and Smith were rescued from radioactive death (and from being eaten by cannibalistic mutates) by Ana Saldana – ex-girlfriend of gang chieftain, Roberto Carlos Diaz – to be used as “bargaining chips” to help her regain favor in the eyes of the leader of the Lobos De Lunas. Our heroes manage to escape death at the hands of Diaz, but word of their existence spreads through the bunker and soon, Will and Smith are being hunted by the other two gangs – Deathgate and the Dragons – as well as the Lobos De Lunas.
