Inker: Jeff Whiting
Letterers: Mark Moore, Ron Muns, Teresa Davidson, Bob Polio & Whizbang

Force of Nature? Elsie’s revenge? The last word in superhero? All of the above? Man-Eating Cow made her first appearance in The Tick #7. The Tick was so impressed with Cow’s no-bull approach to crime-fighting that he passed on the title of The City’s protector to her as he left for New York. Man-Eating Cow was appointed guardian of The City by The Tick back in Tick #8. Since then, the criminal element of The City has learned to sleep with one eye open, never knowing when the righteous Jaws of Justice will chomp next… as Man-Eating Cow deals out justice to vermin in town by continuing to consume crimals!
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “This Was No Boating Accident”, Bad guys are being eaten and the cops finger Crime Cannibal for the job; Mr. Krinkles the rodeo clown knows better, however, and arrives in The City hunting for the Man-Eating Cow. Krinkles the Clown witnesses The Man-Eating Cow controlling crime with her own unique brand of justice! This startling event sends Krinkles flying into police headquarters in a panic where he tries to convince the authorities of the cow’s existence!
Next in issue #2, “Good & Evil”, Continuing from the first issue Krinkles the Clown is still trying to convince Lt. Valentine that a Man-Eating Cow is single-hoofedly reducing the crime rate in the back alleys of The City! Introducing Crime Cannibal!
Next in issue #3, “Walk a Mile in My Big Shoes”, Hoopy and his gang capture Krinkles from Valentine’s apartment and try to pump him for information as they finger him as a police informant; Crime Cannibal tries to find Krinkles for Lord Byron; Valentine goes undercover as a clown trying to find Krinkles himself; The Man-Eating Cow finds Krinkles and company first and cuts a swathe of destruction through the clowns. In Man-Eating #1 & 2, the discovery of the remains of gangster, Nick Gallo – his shoes, with feet still in ’em – has Police Lt. Valentine searching for a killer. His suspects include costumed “hero” Crime Cannibal, who swears he didn’t put the bite on Gallo. Could the ravings of washed-up rodeo clown Mr. Krinkles be true? Can a Man-Eating Cow be the culprit? Mob boss Lord Byron sends Crime Cannibal to track down Mr. Krinkles, who’s hiding out at Valentine’s place. Crime Cannibal finds someone’s gotten to Krinkles first! But who? That’s what Valentine wants to know…
Next in issue #4, “Armed Camps”, In a new storyline the sensational she-cow finds herself the center of a showdown between the finest representatives of both sexes; Adding to the confusion are all those other cows who escaped last issue. In the first 3 issues of Man-Eating Cow’s own comic, she has been dealing out justice to the vermin in town. Gangster Nick Gallo was eaten alive by something! Lt. Valentine suspected super-“hero” Crime Cannibal of the grisly deed while Mr. Krinkles, an alcoholic rodeo clown tried to convince Valentine that Gallo was killed by… well, a cow. Did he succeed? Meanwhile, Man-Eating Cow, swiftly and silently continues the dispensation of toothy justice. In this issue, we find the men and women of The City split into armed camps – both genders claiming Man-Eating Cow as supreme bovine symbol of their militant platforms!
Next in issue #5, “Hearts And Minds”, Classic super-good guys Captain Academia and Hollowpoint decide the fate of the Crime Cannibal and he is not going to be happy about their decision! A reformed Crime Cannibal escorts his girl out to a vegetarian restaurant (of all things!) while tailed by a couple of colorful costumed crime-fighters who share extremist bents, as well as by a certain four-footed fury whose attitudes and tastes may both be described as… well, rather extreme!
Next in issue #6, “The Day The Herd Stood Still!”, In this free-standing and free-wheeling installment Man Eating Cow encounters serious trouble when she runs into alien invaders from space who have come to Earth… to steal cattle!? Copw’s travels take her far from The City to the town of Dullesville, where time appears to have stood still since Cold War days. Things are not what they seem in Dullesville. A series of cattle mutilations have brought an unease to the sleepy community, drawing Cow there like a bovine draws flies. But she’s not alone; the US government has also dispatched investigators to the scene. Are aliens afoot in Dullesville? Has Cow finally bitten off more than even she can chew? And what about the Prom? These questions are among those confronted in… “The Day The Herd Stood Still”.
Next in issue #7, “A Spooky House on a Hill Near”, Sweet Heather the Crime Cannibal’s girlfriend has to babysit at a spooky old house near a graveyard. And it’s Halloween! The kid needs an exorcist… and as The City’s protector, as appointed by The Tick, it’s up to Man-Eating Cow to save the day! This issue begins a new story. Our Heroine, cute-and-sweet, Heather confronts the menace of baby-sitting the Spawn of Hades! And if dealing with a child who teeths on human arms isn’t enough, “ordinary” criminals like the wooden-limbed Chilla Brothers seek to kidnap he to get control over her boyfriend, Crime Cannibal. Further complicating matters, innocent-yet-spunky Heather is blissfully unaware that the object of her affections is none other a super-character with eating habits at least as unusual as that of Man-Eating Cow! Can Heather’s life be saved at a cost less than the sacrifice of her adorable naivete? Can Crime Cannibal adapt to a vegetarian lifestyle? Read on and discover!
Next in issue #8, “Hunting Heather”, Heather has been kidnapped… and the Crime Cannibal has gone ballistic trying to find her! Kidnapped… is what happened last issue to Heather, lovely girl firend of the reformed (we hope!) villain, the awe-inspiring Crime Cannibal. Lovely Heather has become embroiled in open warfare between rival crime organizations. Is Crime Cannibal mad enough to abandon the path of righteousness and return to his nasty habit of devouring his enemies?! And where where does Man-Eating Cow fit into all this? Will she share in the gruesome repast? Or are we just easing you with titillating tales of off-beat super-heroing?! Turn the pages to see, faithful fan!
Next in issue #9, “Rising Sagin”, This issue is part 2 of the “Crisis on Finite Tick Spin-Offs”. Thrill to the action as The Tick, Man-Eating Cow, Paul and various other super-heroes confront a galaxy of super-bad-guys who are in league with none other than the resurrected Sagin the Wolf! Sagin strikes with full force using ninjas, the Miti Men, and ruthlessness to subdue our valiant warrior from quelling his evil rampage! The Tick?! Yes, The Tick stumbles into the pages of Man-Eating Cow and hold your breath for mayhem and adventure! Hey who cares what’s happened before!? This is Part 2 of Crisis on Finite Tick Spin-Offs, our megalomaniacal crossover series stariing, Cow, Paul, The Tick, a giant lizardnamed Gomorra and a plethora of friends, enemies and hapless “neutrals” in a four-part epic story of “heroes versus insane back-from-dead super-villain bent on conquering the world even if it means destroying it beyond recognition!!” Crisis on Finite Tick Spin-Offs started in Paul # 9, sprawls into the Man-Eating Cow # 9 (this issue!), overflows back into Paul #10, and reaches its mind-bending conclusion in Man-Eating Cow # 10. Don’t miss the action!!

Thrill to the action as The Tick, Cow,Paul and various other super-heroes confront a galaxy of super-bad-guys who are in league with none other than the resurrected Sagin the Wolf!
