Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Counterstrike! Part One“, The invasion so far… The Martians have invaded Earth and now control half the planet. Because the Martians failed to take into account the threat of Earth’s nuclear submarines, humanity survived the initial assault. A truce between the Martians and Mankind was signed. But that truce is a fragile one. There are many Martians and humans conspiring to violently shatter it.
Next in issue #2, “Counterstrike Part Two: Baptism of Fire”, The Martians are attempting to consolidate their hold on Earth. But their plans are about to be jeopardized by a computer hacker on the nuclear submarine USS Miami who is ready to transmit a deadly computer virus to the Martian Mother Ships. Meanwhile, Coleen Mackay has learned that she is the subject of a Martian breeding experiment.
Next in issue #3, “Counterstrike Part 3: Martian Man Eaters”, The tense standoff that exists between Mankind and the Martians is in danger. A computer hacker’s virus is destroying the computer systems of the orbiting Martian mother ships. If the virus is not decoded in time, the ships will crash, and the Cold War II will explode in a conflict that could annihilate both sides!
Next in issue #4, “Counterstrike Part 4: The Lord Haw Haw Gambit“, A human-designed computer virus is destroying the computer systems of the Martian mother ships. Komo Dath, the Martian leader, has issued an ultimatum; if mankind does not give him the code to deactivate the virus, he will turn the mother ships into kamikazes aimed at mankind’s largest population centers!
Next in issue #5, “Counterstrike Part 5: The Victory of Komo Dath”, In a last-minute agreement, the President of the U.S. has sent the disabler program to the Martian high command. But did the program arrive in time?
Next in issue #6, “The Rescue of Janice Brown Part 1: The Origin of the Tiger Team”, Defenses against the Martian land and air forces by conventional forces has collapsed. In desperation, the surviving political and military leaders make every new weapons system under development fully operational. For industrialist and weapons designer, Jackson Manning, it means he has only one day to train U.S. Army Armored Rangers on the use of his new armored battle suits to become Tiger Team. Meanwhile, Colleen Mackay who was earmarked for the Martian breeding program, has been made a gift to the Paeec Leader Telian Piar and is undergoing an accelerated mutating procedure designed to make her “suitable”. Ann Reslock and her sister Janice Reslock Brown are used as guinea pigs in a series of sick, bizarre experiments and Ann is mutated into the Martian “White Card Agent” Cannibal Ann. Later Cannibal Ann becomes a renegade and escapes while Janice is left behind.
Finally in issue #7, “The Rescue of Janice Brown” Part 2: The Death of Tiger Team”, Soon after her escape, Cannibal Ann is reunited with Woody Brown, her nephew and Janice’s son. Together with Woody they return to the Martian controlled complex of Walter Reed Medical Center to rescue Janice. Cannibal Ann tricks the Martians into admitting Woody and herself into Walter Reed. Once inside, Cannibal Ann discovers that Janice had become the victim of a Martian mutation experiment gone horribly wrong. All the survived was Janice’s head, which is kept alive in a special Martian-designed bio-jar. Now Cannibal Ann begins “Operation Revenge”, her plan to escape Walter Reed with Janice and Woody. Meanwhile, a dysfunctional squad of hopeful “super-heroes” calling itself the Tiger Team simultaneously launches “Operation Save the Children,” a special hit-and-run raid designed to rescue the children that the Martians are holding prisoner in Ward B of the Walter Reed Medical Center.
