From Inside Flap:
BANNED IN BROOKLYN
In 1962, at the height of the cold war, the Brooklyn-based Topps Chewing Gum Company released a set of trading cards that combined a classic, H.G. Wells-style alien invasion with the graphic atrocities of war. The result was the legendary Mars Attacks cards, and the reaction was swift: National uproar.

Deemed too gruesome for innocent young minds, the cards were quickly suppressed.

But even as they disappeared from the market, their cult status grew. . . and grew. Finally, in 1995, Topps rereleased the set, adding new–and equally gruesome–cards. The invasion began anew, leading to comic books, novels, a major motion picture deal (with Tim Burton directing), and other insidious means by which the Martian conquest would spread across the land.

In War Dogs of the Golden Horde, the mayhem escalates to a global scale. Martian armies invade Mongolia–only to discover that the descendants of Genghis Khan are as fierce and warlike as the legendary conqueror. The merciless will win the day. The question is, who is more savage: Mongol or Martian?

From Back Cover:
Mongol Madness
When the Martian invasion swept the Earth, the extra-terrestrial aggressors used high-tech weapons of death. As they expected, nothing on Earth could match their potential for destruction.

But they didn’t reckon with the descendants of Genghis Khan, history’s greatest and most terrible warlord. Mongolia had once again embraced the ways of conquest. When the Martian Death Squads arrived, they were startled to find warriors whose cunning and ferocity were unsurpassed.

Armed only with Kalashnikov automatic rifles and modern bows and arrows, and led by Qasar Khan, the war dogs of the Golden Horde proved their prowess. But how could even the unstoppable Mongol forces cope with an enemy who could vaporize them at the slightest whim?
