This is it true believers, the follow-up chapter with the Marvel Zombies! Marvel Zombies 2 continues the story about the former super-heroes who’ve been turned into evil, cosmic-powered eating machines. They’ve devoured every living thing in the Zombie universe, so what’s left? They remember that Reed Richards built a gateway to other universes back on Earth but don’t realize that it’s already been destroyed. Meanwhile, not everyone on Earth is either dead or a zombie. The Black Panther and his surviving followers have been hiding in New Wakanda. And they’ve made a startling discovery about the zombie plague. Stop feeding a zombie and it regains its ability to reason. Unfortunately for The Black Panther, not only does he have to deal with a civil rebellion and assassination attempt, but, while on their way home, the zombie heroes discovered that they’d overlooked something. And now, their hunger is as ravenous as ever.

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, 40 years after departing Earth, the Zombie Galacti (now only consisting of Giant Man, Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Hulk, Wolverine, Phoenix, Iron Man, Firelord, Gladiator, and joined by Thanos), reached the edge of the known universe, and were astonished to find that they’d eaten every living creature along the way. Some of them now have cybernetic or alien parts replacing lost limbs and body parts, (Spider-Man’s right leg, Luke Cage’s left arm, Wolverine’s right arm, and Iron Man’s lower half). Thanos and Hulk argued over Hulk seeming to “eat twice as much” as the rest of the zombies, and Hulk smashed Thanos’ head, killing him for good. Gladiator then tried to eat Thanos’ body, but was instantly reminded of the fact that they can’t eat each other. With nothing left to eat, they tried to think of what to do next, and Iron Man and Giant Man recalled Reed’s inter-dimensional portal that the Fantastic Four used to escape to another universe. They all then decided to return to Earth and find that device. As they leave, Spider-Man remarked to Luke Cage that his hunger seemed to be fading. In the ruins of New York City, a young boy K’Shamba discovered Hawkeye’s zombified head, still alive and apparently cured of his hunger. Clint begged the boy to take him alone, and promised that he won’t bite. Back in New Wakanda, an aging Black Panther sat at his throne being warned about the threat of Fabian Cortez’s son, Malcolm, and his plot to take the throne. K’Shamba brought in Hawkeye’s head, and they’re all shocked to discover that Wasp wasn’t the only one to lose her hunger, and that it fades with time for all zombies. Well on their way back to Earth, the Zombie Galacti came upon Ego the Living Planet, and were thrilled to devour him. Hawkeye was given a Wasp’s old cybernetic body, and Reynolds was able to explain to T’Challa that Clint is not there mentally, that half a century sitting under rubble alone has left him mentally scarred. Cortez rallied the Acolytes, while an assassin attacked T’Challa in his asleep. Luckily, Wasp was able to fend off the assassin, but not before T’Challa’s stomach was sliced open. With no other option left, Wasp bit him, infecting him and saving his life. Overcome with hunger, she then turns to his wife, Lisa Hendricks, but T’Challa was able to stop her, allowing her to eat the assassin instead. While their hunger was satisfied, they decided to enter confinement until it wears off again. Wasp was certain this would be the last of their troubles, remarking, “What else could happen?” As the pack of zombie galacti drew ever closer to Earth, Spider-Man asked “Are we there yet?” To which Giant Man replied “Shut up!”

Next in part #2, On their trek back to Earth, Giant Man became annoyed by Spider-Man and tried to kill him, but was stopped by Iron Man and Hulk. He remarked that he doesn’t understand why Spider-Man lived but Colonel America died. On Earth, K’Shamba was sitting outside the cell where his grandfather, T’Challa, and Wasp were being held after devouring an assassin that nearly killed T’Challa. Malcolm Cortez attempted to seize power over their group by using T’Challa’s new status as a zombie against him. On their way to Earth, Spider-Man revealed to Luke Cage that the reason he told jokes was originally to hide his fear of losing the fights, but lately he began using them to keep his mind off of all the evil things he had done, preventing him from becoming another soulless beast without remorse. Forge revealed Malcolm’s plan and the plot to kill Wasp and T’Challa to “get rid of the zombie plague” to them. That night, Reynolds, Hawkeye, and Forge freed T’Challa and Wasp to get them out of New Wakanda before Malcolm had his way, but they are intercepted by Malcolm and the villagers. Malcolm revealed what T’Challa has become to the villagers to cause them to fear him, but the villagers were distracted, staring at the newly arrived Intergalactic Zombies. The zombies attacked, and Forge tried to send as many survivors as possible to Asteroid M. The Hulk went on a rampage, devouring a few people before being stopped by Giant Man, who said that there weren’t enough people to eat them all mindlessly. He proposed that they start up a breeding program, which would then give them enough food to last them forever. At this, Spider-Man blasts off the top half of Giant Man’s head, (similar to Colonel America’s wound), explaining that if they were to set up a breeding camp, they’d be no better than the monsters they fought all those years ago. At the end of his speech about heroism, Giant Man ordered Spider-Man to be killed. Wolverine is glad to step in, but Luke Cage and Spider-Man fought him and Iron Man off while Wasp and T’Challa rescued the final villagers. Reynolds had T’Challa push the zombies back out of New Wakanda, then setting off a force field to keep them out. Sadly, Gladiator and a sleeping Hulk were locked inside with the survivors, and Luke Cage is cut in half.

Next in part #3, Gladiator attacked Spider-Man and T’Challa, while Spider-Man tried to reason with him, to no avail. T’Challa leaped at Gladiator, but was punched through his chest. Outside the force field, Giant Man lost a foot while trying to leave the force field. Spider-Man and Wasp tried to tell Gladiator about the hunger fading, but Gladiator tore Spider-Man nearly in half, then defeating Luke Cage and Wasp. Forge, in Iron Man’s old armor, crushed Gladiator, but Gladiator survived and tried to kill Forge. Spider-Man and Luke Cage blast Gladiator’s head apart with an energy burst. Iron Man was surprised by Forge being able to get to his first suit, and was even surprised that Forge was even alive, and Forge explained that Stark International is “not locked anymore.” The remaining zombies outside of the field departed to find the inter-dimensional transporter the Fantastic Four used. The zombies reached the remains of the Baxter Building, but were attacked by Reed’s security drones. Giant Man wondered who remained to turn them on. On Asteroid M, Reynolds and Forge repaired Wasp’s body, sewed up Spider-Man, gave Luke Cage a new cybernetic lower half, and restrained Bruce Banner. There, Reynolds and Wasp began to have a relationship, which eventually culminates in Wasp kissing Reynolds on the lips. Spider-Man then told Forge that the zombies went to find Reed’s dimensional portal, and Forge revealed he moved it to Asteroid M, but it doesn’t work. The zombies searched the entire Baxter Building, and Iron Man figured out that Forge took the portal, just like he had taken the Mark I suit. Spider-Man warned Forge that he shouldn’t have brought the portal to Asteroid M since the zombies will come looking for it. T’Challa realized they don’t have the strength or numbers needed to fight off the zombies yet again. Reynolds believed they might have a secret advantage, and showed them an experiment he conducted with Forge. He had found part of a brain that was still functioning, and inserted it into T’Challa’s son’s body.

Next in part #4, T’Challa attempted to attack Reynolds for using his son’s body without his permission, but T’Channa/Colonel America intervened, flinging his shield into T’Challa’s head. T’Channa put on Colonel America’s cowl and tried to fight T’Challa, Spider-Man, and Luke Cage before being reminded of his relationship to T’Challa. T’Challa punched Forge for assisting Reynolds. After Forge recuperated, they decided to form a plan. The other zombies made it back to New Wakanda, forming a deal with T’Challa: they wouldn’t eat the other humans in exchange for the dimensional portal. Both sides agree and Reynolds dropped the force field. Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Wasp, and T’Challa then attacked the others before they can cross and then reactivated the field, trapping them all outside. Giant Man then pointed out that their plan didn’t fully work, and Iron Man was inside the force field. Iron Man was happy to be the only Zombie inside the field, and told Giant Man that he wouldn’t eat TOO much before shutting down the field. The others resumed their battle, with Phoenix burning off a few parts of Spider-Man’s suit. Inside, Iron Man was flying around the building searching for food, only to be confronted by T’Channa/Colonel America, Forge (in the Mk I suit) and the Acolytes. While on the outside, Spider-Man and Luke Cage struggled against the Phoenix, and T’Challa was brutally smashed by Giant Man, leaving only his left arm, left shoulder, and his head intact. Wasp tried to get revenge for that, but Giant Man smashes the upper half of her body, remarking that while he missed her in space, he eventually got used to the idea of being without her. In Reynolds’ lab, Bruce Banner awakened, attacking Reynolds while telling him he hated eating him, but only had a few seconds before the Hulk took over. Reynolds complied with Banner, thinking his love, Wasp, was gone forever. He warned Banner to be careful of the nearby switch, but Bruce pushed Reynolds back into the switch and deactivates the field. The zombies made a break for the building, while Bruce lamented on what he has accidentally done. Giant Man and the others found the survivors’ stronghold, and prepared to eat T’Challa’s wife, but just as she gets up to Giant Man’s lips, he stops. Wolverine asked what was wrong, and Giant Man claims that his hunger is gone.

Finally in part #5, After Giant Man states that he isn’t hungry anymore, he manages to convince the other heroes that their hunger is gone. Giant Man then decides that they should help rebuild and can be heroes again. However, Luke Cage punches Giant Man, but he convinces Luke that they are cured. However, Malcolm Cortez states that they must pay for their crimes. However, while Cortez and Forge argue about the zombies forgiveness, the Hulk bursts in the room. The other heroes battle the Hulk and try to convince him his hunger is gone, but he states that he will devour everyone in the room. Phoenix tries to confront Hulk, but he punches through her and smashes her head. Hawkeye then goes up against Hulk, but he breaks his containment pod for his head with enough force so that when Hawkeye hits the ground, his head explodes. Then Giant Man holds Hulk down, but he kicks him in the jaw. Spider-Man, Forge, T’Challa, Iron Man, and Firelord then gang up on the Hulk, but Hulk grabs Firelord’s staff and knocks his head off, killing Firelord. He then stomps through Iron Man’s armor, killing Iron Man as well. Hulk then devours Reynolds, who was distraught over Wasp’s apparent demise, but halfway through the devouring, he reverts back to Bruce Banner again. Bruce then begs the other heroes to kill him because he can’t control the Hulk, so Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Giant Man all focus an energy blast and blow apart Bruce’s head. Later that day, the heroes are cleaning up the damage they left in the fight. Forge manages to find Wasp’s head, still alive, under a large block. Three weeks later, they hold a funeral for the fallen heroes. After the funeral, Giant Man and Wasp talk about Hawkeye. They both depart to the room where the dimensional portal, fully repaired, is located. Giant Man states that the current survivors need supplies that could be brought from another dimension, and the gene pool there isn’t diverse enough to keep humanity alive for more than a few generations. However, Malcolm reveals that the portal wasn’t working because he sabotaged it and that he was getting rid of the heroes. He then reveals to T’Challa that he killed his son, ordered the attack on him, and will eventually kill K’Shamba. T’Challa then asks why Malcolm revealed his plan, and Malcolm replies “because I can” and activates the portal. The heroes are teleported somewhere, when Forge enters the room and criticizes Malcolm for what he’s done. Malcolm then goes to Forge and punches him in the jaw, knocking him out. Malcolm is then seen standing over Forge, saying that the heroes were gone for good and that they were someone else’s problem now. There is also a The End in the corner of the same panel, with a “?” on it, hinting at another future installment.
