Description

Meadowlark                                 One-shot Comic
Featuring a parody story spoofing Image’s Shadowhawk, all presented in Glorious Black & White.  Awesome!!
Writer: Don Chin
Artist: Bob Hanon
Inker: Wayne Faucher
Editor: Don Chin
Cover by: Dave Lanphear

Parody Press presents a superhero spoof, this one sending up Image’s Shadowhawk. Now introducing Parody Press’ “Meadowlark”, complete with the embossed foil cover that was all the trend back in the 1990s. Meadowlark is your standard, edgy vigilante, but this time with a twist; his fighting methods are all various basketball-related attacks. How will the slew of humdrum thugs and occasional superpowered enemy deal with this?

Story/Spoilers
One night in a city called Harlem, a group of thugs sneak up behind a man wearing a pretty obvious disguise. They attempt to rob him, only to discover that it is Meadowlark. Meadowlark promptly destroys them, leaving one man paralyzed. Meadowlark takes off into the night, leaving the police clueless. In the meantime, a villain named Phoenix Sunn is terrorizing the population. Meadowlark is too busy dealing with more common thugs to see the damage Phoenix has caused. It is only later when Meadowlark is watching the live news that he realizes Phoenix Sunn is on a rampage. He leaves his apartment to go confront the villain. Before they can fight, both of them are crushed and killed by Godzilla.
