Acclaim Comics brings Target Games’ popular Mutant Chronicles and Doom Trooper Universe to comics! In this four-issue comic mini-series (tie in to the collectible card game), we discover that true evil is not easily conquered.

Not so long from now, huge corporations would rise to control most of the world’s resources. These mega-corporations would stop at nothing in their quest for profit, eventually fouling the Earth so badly that mankind had to seek out life on other planets in order to survive. Eventually the quest for new territories would wind up on Pluto, where explorers would unwittingly unleash a terrible force of darkness upon the universe. In the dark times that followed, mutants, demons, and immense beings known as Nepharites rose against mankind. Only after the greatest of struggles was this darkness defeated and mankind was once again left in peace. So it seemed at least. Lately, evidence has been mounting that the Dark Legion may not have been defeated, only forced into working by more nefarious means…

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, In the distant future, Mitch Hunter and Jake Kramer are mercenaries caught in an unholy war against the Inquisition – zealot puppets of the Corporations. Armed with an array of high-tech weapons and power armor, Hunter and Kramer fight their way out of the hands of the Inquisition’s vilest torturer, Golgotha – the ultimate wicked goddess!

Next in issue #2, Circuits are blown and swords hack mutant flesh as the Inquisition arrive to complicate Mitch Hunter and Jake Kramer’s lives! The Dark Legion’s ultimate demon goddess Golgotha plots her counterattack as Hunter and Kramer battle their way through the Dark Legion’s Citadel.

Next in issue #3, Hunter, Kramer, Valerie and Wolfe are overpowered by the Nepharite’s undead soldiers, but the Nepharite wants them kept alive… for sinister (and most assuredly disgusting) purposes. Meanwhile, a dark secret is revealed about Crenshaw, and Stahler reveals that the Eye of Algeroth would give power over the living as well as the dead!

Finally in issue #4, The unstoppable force of the Highlander sword is pitted against the immovable might of the Eye of Algeroth! Hunter and Kramer have retrieved their lost weapons and are now bristling with firepower! But will this be enough to take on the Mortificator, his necromutants, and his queen – Golgotha…?
