NetherWorlds tells the story of Conrad Pierce, a native-American construction worker who drinks to escape the grim world situation and his depressing personal life. However, the one thing drinking cannot help him escape from is the power of an ancient talisman he unwillingly inherits.

Story/Spoilers
In the “Flame And Darkness”, The future world of 1999 is a horrific nightmare. Lee Iacocca is president, the United States is in the midst of a Depression, and cities such as New York are overrun with crime and poverty. Not to mention that an evil demon and his minions, prowling the ruined streets of NetherWorlds, plan to make our reality into the apocalyptic hell that is theirs. And the one man who may be able to stop it is a burnt-out construction worker who drinks away his evenings and doesn’t know what to make of the mysterious old guy across the hall who warns him to “watch his back”—up until he himself is attacked by the aforementioned demons. Little does he know that his neighbor is fighting a battle against Lord Acheron and has drawn him into the battle.

Collectible Entertainment comment: NetherWorlds (1988) is an ill-fated title that was originally to have run for more than one issue instead of just the 1 that was published and is therefore is an incomplete story (cliffhanger – last page ends with “To Be Concluded!” >> also see 12th scan for advertisement for issue # 2 that was never published)…. Nonetheless, NetherWorlds Black & White artwork is still awesome from cover to cover. Recommended for Science Fiction / Horror enthusiast… It’s good stuff.
